Society often tries to dictate what women can and cannot wear as they age (or at any age, honestly), when in fact there’s no better way to stay young at heart than to embrace youthful fashion—bright colors and patterns and all. Who says you can't wear skirts that hit above your knee? Leggings ARE pants! Forget what you think you know about "dressing for your age"; here are 20 styles that are worth rebelling for. (And the moral of the story: Wear whatever makes you feel good!)
1 of 20 The LBD
The little black dress, more commonly known as the LBD, is a classic, sexy outfit for girl’s night out, date night, or literally any occasion, that women of all ages should own. Black looks good on literally everyone, and it's never out of style. If you think black is "boring" or you’re worried it will wash you out or age you, pair your LBD with a different-colored cardigan or blazer. Or add a pop of color with your shoes and/or handbag!
Just as a basic rule of thumb, if you’re going for a low-cut dress, make sure the hemline is a little longer. When opting for a shorter dress, choose one that has a high neck to stay sophisticated.
