We all remember those times when we were young and we got mistaken for being older than we were. Back then, it was a compliment, but now? No. Please don’t guess that I’m 10 years older than I actually am – not that age is a bad thing. Sure, I have wisdom, but stop calling me ma’am. Believe it or not, you could be making fashion mistakes that make you look older than you actually are.
Fashion is basically magic. It can cover up bulges and lumps where they definitely shouldn’t be. The right outfit can also shave a few years off your age without too much effort. The hardest thing is knowing how to execute it properly. If you don’t know what you’re doing, a single fashion mistake can do the opposite and age you five years or more. Even if you think you’re following the rules, like wearing black to slim your waist, you could still be committing a fashion don’t. After all, the rules of fashion change constantly, and it can be hard to know what’s “in.”

Choosing Too-Long Skirts
As we get older, our hemlines inevitably get longer. While a skirt that goes all the way to your ankles can potentially be done the right way (if you're tall or rocking sky-high heels, for example), you could end up doing more harm than good by making yourself look frumpy. If you love a relaxed-fitting skirt, opt for a structured top or a nicely tailored blazer. If your maxi skirt fits closer to the body, choose a looser blouse. Just make sure that the length of the top isn't so long as to ruin to proportions achieved by a long skirt.
