Finding the Right Swimsuit for Your Body

Some articles of clothing, such as oversized t-shirts or hats, may be ‘one size fits all,’ but swimsuits usually do not fit into that category. There are as many different styles of bathing suits out there as there are varying body types, and you have the freedom to find one that highlights features you’re proud of and/or disguises any problem areas. Depending on your body type, there may be certain styles that flatter your figure more than others, so follow this guide before you head to your local mall for a swimsuit shopping spree.

For the Buxom Babes

If you’re on the buxom side, you know how hard it can be to find a swimsuit that provides the amount of support you need. Never fear, there are plenty of sexy swimsuits that will hold everything in place. Avoid the string bikinis and bandeaus in favor of padded or banded halter tops, and favor more subtle prints and colors so the entire focus is not on your chest.

For the Flat-Chested Foxes

You can find a bathing suit with just about as much padding as you could ever dream of, but there are also other ways to flatter your figure. Picking a wild print, neon colors, or cute ruffles will be sure to make you stand out in the crowd, and be sure to show off those legs as well with side tie or ruched bottoms.

For the Hourglass Hotties

If you’ve got a bod that would give Kim Kardashian a run for her money, you definitely want to show off those assets. Try on a brazilian bottom with an underwire crop-top style bikini or if you want to go out of the box, try a peplum, polka dot tankini. Peplum is used infrequently in bathing suits, but there are some incredibly flattering ones out there that will make you look your best.

For the Alluring Athletic Builds

The goal is to find something that enhances your natural curves, such as a halter or string bikini and a side tie bottom. Another great, curvifying option is a monokini, which will effortlessly show off your curves in an incredibly attractive style. If you really want to wear a bandeau, opt for one that has a sweetheart neckline.

For the Attractive Apples

Choose a slenderizing one piece with ruching throughout the middle and a deep V-neck to show off your upper body. Another great option is a bathing suit that has sexy side panels of a different pattern or a different fabric, such as mesh.

For the Pretty Pears

Stay away from those scrunchy boyshorts because vintage, high-waisted bikini bottoms were practically made for you! Another great, slimming option is to choose a one piece with colorblocked or asymmetrical print, which will add great visual interest and exemplify your best features.
