New Year, New Hair: 2015 Hair Tips

New year, new you, new hair!  Whether its a dramatic cut or fresh color, changing up your hair is a great way to start this year off right. Take some tips and ideas from celebrities or models whose skin tone and face shape is similar to yours. After all, their stylist’s job is to ensure their hair looks as flawless as possible, and you deserve that same level of glamour. A new hairstyle is one of the greatest, most noticeable fashion accessories, and with just a few changes, you can completely update your look for 2015.

Highlights Are In

There is bad news if you are a fan of the ombre look; it has definitely fallen out of style this season. Fortunately, its been replaced with another beautiful look: bold highlights. Celebrities, such as Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry, have already been rocking this look this month, and you can too. If you have dark brown hair, opt for some warm chestnut highlights. These will simulate massive volume and will give your hair a gorgeous, three dimensional quality. For lighter colored hair, go for some honey-colored strands. Even on those lazy days when you just want to throw your hair in a bun, the bold highlights will make your hair look chic.

Keep It Easy

Tousled, natural hair is huge this season, so keep that idea in mind when going in for a haircut. This look is perfect because it requires very little effort on your part; just squirt some sea salt spray or similar product onto your locks after you roll out of bed, and you’ll be good to go in no time. For an even more effortless look, try out a cropped haircut. A relaxed bob is right on point this spring and will give you a style that’s both professional and fun. This style is easier to maintain if you have thinner hair, but its still possible with thick tresses. You will just have to tame it with a mousse or light gel and keep up with regular trims at the salon.

Temporary Color to the Rescue

There are a lot of people out there who are hesitant to color their hair because they’re afraid they will not like how it looks. If that’s you, there’s some good news! Temporary hair color, such as L’oreal Chalk, is growing in popularity this year and will transform your hair for only a short period of time. So if you decide you don’t like the new color, you won’t have to dye your hair back or wait a long time for it to grow out. It is perfect for events such as bachelorette parties, nights out on the town, or even for the office. You can find temporary hair color in natural shades as well as bolder ones, like bright blue and pink.
