12 Celebrities Who Are Killing it on Social Media

One of the most wonderful aspects of social media is that we can have an intimate glimpse into the lives of the celebrities whom we adore most. We can share moments with them from the Oscars to their vacations to Paris to #tbt photos of them in high school. Some celebrities are more active on social media platforms than others, and there are a select few who are knocking their tweets and posts out of the park.

George Takei

He has over 1 million followers on Twitter, and it’s not hard to see why. Takei posts absolutely hilarious articles and videos and is a strong advocate for equality, including women’s rights and LGBT rights. Not to mention he asks the hard hitting questions.

Reese Witherspoon

On Twitter, she talks about her perfect family, famous friends like Sofia Vergara, gives you a glimpse of what it’s really like backstage at awards shows and talk shows, and posts encouraging facts and quotes from other empowering women. But her Instagram is even more mesmerizing thanks to pictures like this one.

George RR Martin

Even between seasons of Game of Thrones, you can still get your George RR Martin kick by following his Twitter. One of his most memorable moments includes posting slightly creepy, GoT-themed Christmas pics for your viewing pleasure.

Oprah

Oprah has both a Twitter and an Instagram that you can follow to keep up with every minute of her incredible life, like hanging out with Lupita N’yongo and adorable selfies with Ellen DeGeneres.

Anna Kendrick

You know what’s even better than the new Pitch Perfect movie coming out soon? Anna Kendrick’s tweets. She has a great sense of humor, and if you follow her, you’ll see gems like this.

Taylor Swift

T-Swift kills in every area of her life, and social media is no exception. She has lots of famous friends, quirky photos, and behind-the-scenes shots of the reality that is her day-to-day life. Not to mention girls nights with other celebs like Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid.

Karlie Kloss

Yes, she’s a rapidly rising supermodel/Victoria’s Secret Angel, but she’s so...real. You can realistically picture being friends with her after watching her videos about encouraging girls to learn how to code and her photos that depict her sincere love for her family.

Ian McKellan

The self-described “actor and activist” posts about being cast as Cogsworth in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast movie (try not to squeal!) alongside awesome #tbts from his days filming Lord of the Rings.

Robyn Lawley

She started making waves after she was the first plus-size model to appear in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, but she’s so much more than a pretty face. She is all about empowering girls and women on Instagram to love themselves and their bodies, no matter their size.

Neil Patrick Harris

You know your favorite part of Halloween is looking forward to the adorable and perfectly executed group costume that is Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka’s family. Even though he portrayed a playboy on How I Met Your Mother, he’s one of the most caring husbands/fathers in real life.

Olivia Wilde

She’s the epitome of beauty and brains, and she’s not afraid to voice her opinions on Instagram and Twitter, no matter what anyone else thinks. Plus, her zany captions for just about every photo make us laugh out loud.

Amanda Seyfried

If #dogsofinstagram is one of your favorite hashtags of Instagram, you should definitely check out Amanda’s profile. There are more pictures of her dog on there than her, but we’re not complaining (he’s adorable).

I thank Finn for giving me some heavy life lessons. You don't need words! #Finnsight
