Back when she was a contestant on American Idol, singer Carrie Underwood revealed that she, at one point, had a third nipple. According to her, it “just looked like a mole.” She was born with the abnormality and had it removed at some point in her childhood.
This condition, known as polythelia, is actually fairly common. Mark Wahlberg and Lily Allen, among other celebs, were also born with it.
This Ocean’s Eleven star is known for being the man behind several iconic characters, but that’s not the only interesting thing about him. Garcia was born with a conjoined twin on his shoulder. His twin was a softball-sized mass of tissue and bones, and was removed when Garcia was a toddler. Since it was removed so early in life, Garcia has no memory of it.
This popular Private Practice star had some real-life experience with doctors and hospitals long before he began acting. Diggs was born with an extra finger on each hand so he had 12 fingers total. His mother elected to have the extra digits removed when he was a child, but Diggs does still have slight nubs where they were.
Shockingly, Damon Wayans was born with a clubbed foot. Clubbed feet are actually a common birth defect and affect about one in every 1,000 people. Wayans foot was able to be corrected, and he had surgery to do so when he was a child. In a slight turn of events, his experiences with a clubbed foot became a part of his role on My Wife & Kids and his character in Waynehead, which is based on his childhood.
Like many other people in the world, Swinton has a third nipple marking. Rather than having it removed or hiding it, Swinton insists she is proud of the abnormality. In fact, Swinton has embraced it so much that she’s named it her “witch’s mark”. We bet that’s the reason she was so convincing in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Leave it to Dan Aykroyd to go above and beyond in the deformities department. Most of us are happy with just one physical oddity, but Aykroyd was born with both webbed toes and heterochromia (two different eye colors). His right eye is green and his left eye is brown. We bet he’s gotten a lot of comedic material from his two quirks.
Kesha is known for many things, include an eccentric sense of style and a rebellious nature, but those aren’t the only interesting things about her. The singer was born with a vestigial tail of about a quarter of an inch. In true Kesha-fashion she told the British magazine Heat that it was removed and “they stole my tail.” Oh, Kesha.
When he was only 10 years old, entertainer Stephen Colbert had surgery to repair his severely perforated eardrum. However, the surgery was not a success and actually left Colbert deaf and without an eardrum in his right ear. The surgery also left his ears asymmetrical, with the affected ear sticking out noticeably more than the other. He can even fold the ear inward and make it pop back out with a wink, so he got a party trick out of the whole deal.
Megan Fox is known for her good looks and fit body, but she doesn’t have the “ideal” form. Fox was born with brachydactyly, which is commonly called “clubbed thumbs.” Clubbed thumbs are sometimes compared to toes and have a wide appearance with a flat thumbnail. It’s a condition she was born with and has not tried to correct. While it looks a little weird and certainly isn’t desirable, it’s not a hindrance in anyway.
