5 Things Stedman Doesn't Need Oprah For

As Stedman Graham turns 64 this year, what better time to get to know the man, who is probably most widely-known as Oprah’s arm candy, in his own right. You might have noticed him more this year as he attended the awards circuit with Oprah in support of her movie Selma, but what do you really know about him? He may not have his own television network, but Stedman is an entrepreneur, businessman, author, and speaker. These five things show how Stedman definitely stands out from Oprah’s shadow.

1. Business Entrepreneur

Oprah and Stedman see eye-to-eye here. They both started their own businesses. Stedman is CEO and chairman of S. Graham & Associates, a marketing and management consulting firm that specializes in corporate education.

2. Motivational Speaker

With all of that experience, it's no wonder that Stedman is also a motivational speaker. Office events, schools, business conferences…Stedman does it all. He might not have the overly dramatic tone of former daytime talk show hosts, but he sure does have the knowledge and is willing to pass it along.

3. Author

If you don't have time to book Stedman to speak at your next office event, you can grab one of his 10 books. Focusing mostly on his business expertise, these books also give general self-help that anyone can use in all aspects of their life. Oprah doesn't have the self-help market cornered to herself.

4. Blogger

Not content with writing simply books, Stedman is also a columnist for the Huffington Post where he has written blog entries offering his self-help advice since 2013.

5. Philanthropist

Stedman's interests aren't just limited to the business world; he's also the founder of Athletes Against Drugs (AAD). This Chicago-based non-profit leverages local and national athletes, as well as business leaders, to help educate America's youth on healthy lifestyle decisions. A worthy cause indeed, Mr. Graham.
