Best and Worst Dressed at the White House Correspondents Dinner

Colin Jost - Best

Colin Jost - Best

The host for the night, comedian Colin Jost, wore a satin-trimmed navy tuxedo by Giorgio Armani. Jost knows how to rock a classic tuxedo and looked like a classic gentleman.

It makes sense that he would go for the classic look considering the professionalism required to attend such an event. You can’t roast the President of the United States if you look ridiculous!

Scarlett Johansson - Best

Scarlett Johansson - Best

Scarlett Johansson matched with her husband, host Colin Jost, by wearing a dress by Giorgio Armani’s couture label, Privé. She wore a white strapless gown with the smallest of crystal detailing on the edges of the gown.

She wore an ivory neck scarf to match the dress, which added a touch of elegance to what could’ve been deemed a “revealing” dress. A red lip complimented the neutral color palette amazingly.

Lynda Carter - Worst

Lynda Carter - Worst

Lynda Carter wore a dark blue dress with spaghetti straps and a fur shawl. The fur shawl was a strange choice, although it did match the color of her hair.

The dress, however, was a tragedy. The design pattern going down the center of the gown felt out of place and was unappealing to look at. The entire look didn’t feel cohesive.

Chris Pine - Worst

Chris Pine - Worst

We’re not sure what’s going on with Chris Pine these days, but he just doesn’t look like Chris Pine. While the white tuxedo was a classic choice, he failed to pull it off.

The white bowtie, undershirt, and suit jacket washed him out. Not to mention it also blended in with the end of his beard. He could’ve been one of the best if only the bowtie had been black.

Molly Ringwald - Best

Molly Ringwald - Best

Asymmetrical dresses may have been the theme of the night, with actress Molly Ringwald also rocking one. Hers was a bright sunflower yellow color that draped beautifully over her shoulders.

The dress had a flattering empire waist that allowed the dress to flow down seamlessly. Ringwald also carried a colorful clutch that complimented the outfit. The star of the show may have been her vintage-inspired short hair with flipped ends.

Keri Russell - Worst

Keri Russell - Worst

Keri Russell’s gown would have been a highlight had it not been so similar to Scarlett Johansson’s dress. Unfortunately, both women wore a strapless gown paired with a matching neck scarf.

Russell’s was simply the less impressive version of the two. It was simple in comparison to Johansson’s dynamic dress with crystal detailing. Russell’s dress also flowed haphazardly down and didn’t hug her figure well.

Jon Hamm - Best

Jon Hamm - Best

Yet again, we can’t fault a man for choosing timeless and elegant attire. Jon Hamm wore a black tuxedo with a white undershirt and black bowtie (take notes, Chris Pine).

He looked handsome next to his gorgeous date, wife Anna Osceola. She wore a black dress to match him with a red lip to add a splash of color. The two were a perfect pair.

Madison Prewett - Worst

Madison Prewett - Worst

Madison Prewett wore a one-shoulder dark blue gown with a silver clutch. The body of the dress was fine, but the shoulder of the dress was bulky, overwhelming, and unflattering.

We're really not sure what the purpose of the bunched-up fabric on one shoulder was. It seemed to be a darker shade than the rest of the dress and only distracted from Prewett's beauty.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph - Best

Da’Vine Joy Randolph - Best

Da’Vine Joy Randolph was a vision in green at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She wore an asymmetrical one shoulder gown with a train. She looked absolutely radiant in her dress.

The train elevated the look, giving her a dramatic silhouette. The dress was fashionable and exciting without being too over the top for the event. Her makeup and hair were done to perfection.

Rachel Brosnahan - Worst

Rachel Brosnahan - Worst

Rachel Brosnahan wore a Jonathan Cohen gown, but there’s just something off about it. The center of the dress, going from the neckline to the waist, is made up of fabric ties.

It’s as if the dress were cut apart and tied back together for dramatic effect. The whole top of the dress has an unfinished and amateur feeling. We just wish for something a little more put-together.

Deborah Roberts - Best

Deborah Roberts - Best

Deborah Roberts tea-length dress was something we haven’t really seen before. It was a fresh take on the fashion of the night. The painting-esque design on the dress had a combination of various flowers with a landscape background.

We found the artistic nature of the dress to be exciting and new. We loved the creativity that went into creating and wearing this piece. She paired the dress with PVC Mules with clear straps for shoes.

Senator John Fetterman - Worst

Senator John Fetterman - Worst

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman wore a Carhartt hoodie branded with a tuxedo front and shorts to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He’s faced criticism in the past for wearing similar on the Senate floor.

We’re conflicted about this one. On the one hand, the outfit was a disgrace to the event and, quite frankly, very ugly. On the other hand, it made us laugh. At least he’s true to himself.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright - Best

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright - Best

Despite their recent separation, former Vanderpump Rules stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner together. The two married in 2019 and announced their split this year.

The two did not walk the red carpet together, but they sat together during dinner. Despite the drama, they looked stunning together. Taylor wore a classic black tuxedo, while Cartwright wore a matching black strapless gown with a corset-style bodice.

Senator Amy Klobuchar - Worst

Senator Amy Klobuchar - Worst

There’s a reason senators aren’t known for their fashion influence. While Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar looked beautiful, her outfit felt out of place. It would’ve been fine for an Easter Sunday church service, but not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

She wore a dress and suit jacket combo that would’ve been fine if it was straight black. However, the flower embroidery aged the look and was unflattering on Klobuchar.

Rosario Dawson - Worst

Rosario Dawson - Worst

Rosario Dawson wore a dress that was trying to be a suit. It looked like a bunch of fabric draped together with a cropped jacket thrown on top of it.

The detail on the siding of the outfit looked like the fraying edges of the inside of a shirt. Are we sure she’s not wearing it inside out? Still, Dawson looked beautiful but this outfit was just not flattering.

Kamala Harris - Best

Kamala Harris - Best

Vice President Kamala Harris wore Celine by Hedi Slimane, a French label and designer, to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Her husband Douglas wore a black tux that paired well.

Harris’ navy sequined gown was long sleeves with a small turtleneck style neckline. It was professional while still being a little fun, exactly what we’d expect out of the Vice President.

Joe and Jill Biden - Best

Joe and Jill Biden - Best

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden made a beautiful pair at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Although the couple didn’t exactly choose to match, they looked elegant together.

President Biden wore a classic black tux, which we’ve come to expect. Jill wore a hot pink long-sleeve outfit with jewels going down the edges and center of the jacket.

Naomi Biden - Best

Naomi Biden - Best

Naomi Biden, eldest daughter of Joe Biden, kept it classic on the red carpet. She opted for a cobalt-colored long-sleeve dress with a high-neck cowl neckline. She looked dynamic in the ensemble.

Biden accessorized with silver heels and a matching clutch. Every detail felt well thought out and perfect. She attended the event with her husband who wore another classic—the tuxedo.

Fran Drescher - Worst

Fran Drescher - Worst

Fran Drescher’s tailored ivory suit was not the fashion moment we had hoped it would be. The shape of the suit is flattering, but the fabric ruins the outfit. It looks like an outdated comforter stuck in a linen closet.

Drescher wore silver, sparkly heels and a matching clutch. We applaud the effort into making a cohesive look, but the particular style didn’t match the suit and felt out of place.

Billy Porter - Best

Billy Porter - Best

Only Billy Porter can make sparkles timeless and classic. His black sequined robe-style jacket provided a flowy silhouette paired with crystal-studded platform boots. His white undershirt provided a nice contrast against the dark black robe.

Our favorite part of Porter’s outfit was his accessories. A statement necklace was the highlight of the ensemble, along with three large rings on each hand.
