Celebrity Couples That Just Can't Quit Each Other

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

The Bennifer romance began in 2002, and set the gold standard for celebrity couple names. Their glamourous romance created a frenzy for tabloids. Their love was fueled by a bad movie (Gigli), and the couple was underway--never mind JLo’s marriage to Cris Judd. But it really exploded when Lopez had Affleck in her music video for "Jenny from the Block" where he quite literally kisses her butt in the video.

They get engaged in 2002 but then broke up the day before their wedding! Each goes their separate ways--Ben marries Jennifer Garner and has three kids, and JLo marries Marc Anthony and has twins. Divorces ensue, but this couple still can’t find one another. Lopez settles into life with A-Rod (everyone in this story has a moniker), and Ben heads into a relationship with Anna de Armas. Relationships end again, and Lopez finally runs right back into the arms that first held her 19 years earlier.  Will they stay together? Who knows?  All I know is that we’re all here for it.

Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne

Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne

While they had a hit show in 2002 about their unique lifestyle, the relationship between Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne was anything but predictable. Ozzy and Sharon met in 1970 (while Ozzy was still married to first wife, Thelma), but didn’t pursue a romantic relationship until 1979. They married in 1982 and quickly became the parents of three kids over the course of the next two years. Do the math--that’s a LOT for any couple to handle, regardless of their celebrity status. Fast forward to 1989 and in a domestic disturbance fueled by drugs, Ozzy attacked Sharon and was arrested.

For most couples, it would have ended there. But not the Osbornes. Sharon stuck by his side through recovery. But the drama wasn’t over. Ozzy relapsed in 2013 with drinking, drugs, and women. Sharon left in 2016 after he admitted to an affair with the hairdresser. However, the OzzMan turned on the charm, and they reunited and renewed their vows in 2017. Four years after their cheating scandals, the couple is still blissfully married and happy.

Pink & Carey Hart

Pink & Carey Hart

Singer Pink found her happily ever after at the 2001 Summer X-Games in Philadelphia with motocross bad boy Carey Hart. They began dating but split for the first time in 2003 due to some "bad-boy" behavior. However, their love was not to be denied, and they recoupled in 2005 and got engaged, with her doing the asking. They had a fairytale wedding in Costa Rica in 2006. After two years of marriage, the couple separated in 2008 because they couldn’t get along.

By the beginning of 2009, the couple reemerged, and Pink became pregnant with daughter Willow in 2011. The couple continued together, having a son in 2016. The couple shares their secret to the longevity of their marriage--couples counseling and a willingness not to give up on one another. They each harbor a stubborn idealism about their relationship that keeps them together through the tougher times. Whatever obstacle this couple faces in the future, you can bet that love will keep them together!

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

For Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, becoming a high-profile couple almost didn't happen. The pair met at a party in 2007, but Biel was cool towards Timberlake’s charm. Timberlake recalls a fair amount of patience and persistence to get her to say yes. Both were coming out of major relationships prior to the coupling. Timberlake had dated Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Hudson, while Biel had dated Chris Evans and Derek Jeter. However,  JT got the girl and Biel/Timberlake became a couple in late 2007.

Their relationship bumped along for four years until March 2011, when they released a statement saying they had “mutually decided to part ways”--but it didn’t last long. By summer, they were back together, and a holiday proposal in Montana helped cement their foundation. The couple had a 2012 romantic wedding in Italy, followed by the birth of their first child in 2016. However, nasty rumors surfaced in 2019 with pictures to boot, and the couple was strained. Justin came forward and apologized for his "lapse in judgement", and Jessica stood by her guy. The couple remains together today with a second child arriving in 2020.

Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

You can’t have a list of lovers and exes without including the most famous couple prior to Bennifer. Their epic romance covered two marriages, two divorces, wildly extravagant gifts, and screaming matches. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were as star-crossed as Cleopatra and Mark Antony themselves. While they knew each other prior to filming the iconic epic, it was during filming that they fell in love in 1962--and marriage ensued once Taylor dumped Eddie Fisher. As soon as the decree was inked, Burton wed Taylor in March 1964. However, rage and affairs fueled by booze led to their demise in June 1974 when they divorced.

But love wasn’t done with Liz and Dick yet. Following a meeting in 1975 about their financial affairs, they recoupled and secretly married in October 1975, and it looked like they were there for good. However, the fighting ensued, and the couple split again less than a year later.  That should be the end of the story. However, they continued to correspond until Burton’s dying breath, when he wrote Liz a letter proclaiming his love for all time that arrived hours after his memorial service--proclaiming that he idolized her and loved her forever.

Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz

Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz

They met in 1940, but no one thought they would become a couple. However, flirtatious musician Desi Arnaz and fiery redhead Lucille Ball defied expectations. However, he was a playboy and she always dated taller, older men. They coupled in early 1940 and were seemingly happy. However, Desi started catting around with former lover Betty Grable, and Lucy was unamused. To keep the peace, they eloped in November 1940. The actress struggled with several miscarriages, and Desi continued his wily ways on tours. Finally Ball filed for divorce in 1944.

However, fate intervened, and the couple welcomed their first child in 1951 as the pair was working together through their newly formed production company, Desilu. At the same time CBS was airing their show, I love Lucy. In 1953, Lucy got pregnant with Desi Jr., and the show became the first to show pregnancy on television. The show ended, but the production company remained and caused a great deal of strain on the couple. After 20 years of marriage, Lucy called it quits over Desi’s continued drinking and womanizing. The couple remained close until the end of Desi’s life in 1986, where he professed his love one last time.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepherd

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepherd

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd seem to have the couple goals everyone strives for. But its through a lot of hard work and ups and downs that got them there.  The pair met in 2007 at a dinner party, and they dated off and on for couple of years. However, Kristen was more into the relationship that Dax, who admitted he wasn’t in the same place. Fast forward to 2009 and the enamored couple got engaged.  The couple wed at the Beverly Hills courthouse in what was the cheapest celebrity wedding of all time--$142.

The couple bounced along through the birth of two children but ultimately ended up in couple’s therapy in 2015 in order to save their marriage. In 2017, they starred opposite each other in the CHiPs remake. They continued on with therapy and visited their home state of Michigan in 2017, which the actress credits as firmly cementing their marriage, through bonding of shared experiences as kids. They now make that a family vacation every year. Cheating rumors surfaced in 2018 but were quickly cast aside as the actress was selling stories to The Daily Mail. The couple remains strong and steadfast.

Cardi B & Offset

Cardi B & Offset

Cardi B and Offset have had their share of drama over the last five years.  The couple met in 2016 and collaborated on a song together in 2017, when they actually went on their first date to Superbowl LI. Rumors surrounded the couple throughout the first half of 2017 with a "are they or aren’t they?" mentality. Offset proposed onstage in October of the same year, although the couple had already secretly wed in 2017. Cheating rumors started in 2018, but Cardi B was firm in her resolution to work things out with her man.

2018 brought a baby bump for the couple, and they celebrated their one-year anniversary with bling and roses. But everything wasn't alright, and the couple split in December 2018. But Offset wouldn't give, interrupting Cardi B concerts begging for forgiveness. The couple walked the red carpet in 2019, confirming reconciliation. They moved along in their marriage until Cardi B filed divorce in 2020, citing that they have been separated. Their divorce case was dismissed in early 2021, and Valentine’s Day rolled around with roses and bling once again. In June, the couple surprised audiences with a second pregnancy.

Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Fink

Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Fink

You’d think everything goes well for former Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, but his 20-year marriage has taken some serious blows.  Dempsey and wife Jillian Fink met in 1994 when he scheduled a haircut. Fink thought it was a joke until he actually showed up. Both were otherwise committed, however, and neither shook loose until 1997. After a whirlwind romance, Fink moved in with Dempsey after three months, and they wed in 1999 at Dempsey’s family farmhouse in Maine.

The couple sailed along in their marriage, and their family grew to include one daughter and twin boys. However, the couple soon hit a snag in January 2015, when Fink filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Dempsey had just left Grey’s Anatomy and was focusing on movies, which may have had something to do with their issues. The couple lived separately but were seen in late 2015 together and then reconciled in 2016. They not only sought counseling, but they also each worked hard to keep their marriage intact, with Dempsey prioritizing his marriage over racing.

Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin

Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin

You might think that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin started as a recent couple, but the truth is that they met in 2009 when introduced by Stephen Baldwin, Hailey’s dad. Fast forward to 2015 when the couple’s spark lit a flame, and they became a couple. In March 2016, Biebs confirmed the relationship but said they were taking it slowly. Soon, the pairing fizzled and each sought someone new--Bieber reunited with Selena Gomez while Baldwin dated Shawn Mendes.

During their time apart, they continued to text from time to time.  In June 2018, the two were spotted in Miami, and the jig was up--they were reunited. The couple became engaged in July 2018 to the disappointment of fans around the world. The couple were mired in the glare of the media spotlight and were seen fighting on numerous occasions. However, true love was meant to be, and Biebs married his gal secretly in September 2018. Regardless of rumors, the couple has settled down and parent two cats and a dog.

Pamela Anderson & Rick Salomon

Pamela Anderson & Rick Salomon

Pamela Anderson has never shied away from marriage, which have included Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. However, its her rocky past with poker player Rick Salomon that lands her on this list--with two marriages, an annulment, and one divorce. The Baywatch actress married Salomon in 2007 during a 90-minute break between magic shows where she was appearing.  Think that sounds crazy?  Apparently, the couple did too when they had their union annulled in 2008.

After some time had passed, Anderson and Solomon reunited and married again in January 2014, but then Pam filed for divorce again in June. However, they smoothed things over and stayed hitched. But Hollywood being what it is, rumors of physical abuse and harassment in the relationship surfaced before the couple finally divorced in 2015. There was even talk of a reunion in 2019--but Anderson shut that down immediately. Pamela went on to wed a 5th time, but it's already over.

Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner

Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner

Natalie Wood was only 10 years old when she met Robert Wagner for the first time. She turned to her mother and said, “I’m going to marry him.” 20th Century Fox set them up in what would be their first date in 1956 to garner publicity for the studio. Little known to the studio, the romance was real, and they were married a year later in December 1957. They honeymooned on a yacht in the Florida Keys. The couple stayed married for the next four years and seemed blissfully happy. But infidelity reared its ugly head. The couple divorced in 1962, due in part to Wood's affair with Warren Beatty.

The couple continued on their separate ways and marriages until early 1972, when they reunited and married later that year. And the relationship lasted another nine and a half years until November 1981, when Wood tragically drowned off the coast of Catalina Island.

Marie Osmond & Steve Craig

Marie Osmond & Steve Craig

Marie Osmond grew up as the only daughter in a large Mormon family. So, its no surprise that when Marie found her forever prince in the person of Steve Craig, they had quite a large wedding at the Mormon Temple with over 4,000 guests in attendance in 1982. As a young couple, they had their share of ups and downs, especially as Marie was at a crossroads in her career and life.  The couple divorced in 1985 after just three years of marriage and one child.  Steve didn’t remarry but Marie did.

Marie seemingly rushed into marriage in 1986 to music producer Brian Blosil. The couple had 7 children total, 2 biological and 5 adopted.  However, everything wasn’t okay.  After 21 years of marriage, the couple decided to divorce in 2007, and Marie swore off marriage and love. But fate was watching, and Steve came back into the picture in 2009 through their son Stephen. Being wary of press, the couple dated in secret until 2011, when they remarried. Marie even wore her original wedding dress from 1982, making it even more special.

Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith

Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith

Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith have a long, unbelievable relationship that started when Melanie was only fourteen. Griffith met Johnson, who was 22 at the time, on the set of the movie that her famous mother, Tippi Hedren, was in. Feelings progressed and the couple moved in together when she was 15. The couple got engaged on her 18th birthday and finally wed in 1976 in Las Vegas. However, Cupid’s arrow seemed dull, because the couple who had been together for four years lasted only six months in marriage.

Each headed their separate ways and both battled alcohol addiction. However, their mutual attraction won out and Melanie and Don married again in June 1989. The media went crazy for them, and this second marriage seemed golden. But time was fleeting--the couple divorced in 1994, citing irreconcilable differences. However, they remain close and still maintain a strong bond between them.

Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade

Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade

Even though they seem like #relationshipgoals now, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were anything but at different times during their extended relationship. They originally met at a 2007 Super Bowl party but Union dismissed the possibility of a relationship. However, romance blossomed in 2010, but it was 2012 before Wade was free from a horrific divorce. The couple was committed to each other and pursuing marriage on an extended timeline.

2013 brought distance and absence, as both had exploding careers--she was traveling and filming ,while his NBA career blew up. During that time, Wade fathered a boy with an actress that was not Union. The couple wed in August 2014 and have been together ever since, through infertility issues and the swarming media.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth seem like a bit of an odd couple. Post Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus really hasn't done anything in her career that would make us think she's into conventionally attractive leading men like Hemsworth, but here we are. Unfortunately for the two, they just couldn't make up their mind about how they felt about each other.

The former couple first met when they were on the set of the 2009 movie The Last Song. By 2010, Cyrus and Hemsworth had made things official and stepped out as a couple into the public eye. Things went south quickly, though, and the couple were broken up by August of 2010. Not a month later, they were an item again...until they inevitably broke up again. This continued on for years until they finally married in 2018--only to break up for good in 2019.

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik

Both Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have made names for themselves--one as a former member of the massive boy band One Direction and the other as an international model. The two superstars first took their relationship public in 2015, and it's been an emotional rollercoaster for Malik and Hadid ever since.

The two had a minor breakup in 2016, but quickly got back together. In March of 2018, they split for a longer time but had reconciled by the end of that year. They did basically the same thing again in 2019, and the two stayed together until the fall of 2021. Now it looks like the two are headed for divorce after it was revealed that Malik had attacked his wife's mother, Yolanda Hadid.

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry's relationship with actor Orlando Bloom is basically a real-life recreation of her hit song "Hot n Cold." In the past, these two have been all over the place in terms of staying together as a couple. The two first took their relationship public in May of 2016, but by the end of the year, the two had split up.

However, they didn't stay separated for long, rekindling their romance in 2017. But by March of that year, they were done again. Finally, they reunited in 2018 and were engaged within the year. It seems like they're together for good these days--the two now have a daughter together and haven't had any other public breakups.

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick

Is anyone really surprised at a Kardashian in a volatile, unstable relationship? We didn't think so! So, it shouldn't be shocking to learn that Kourtney Kardashian and her baby daddy, Scott Disick, have had quite a tumultuous relationship. Things started nicely for the couple though--they actually met before all the Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame.

During their decade-long relationship, the "happy" couple broke up no fewer than three times, and those breakups always seemed to revolve around Scott and his bad behavior. If he wasn't cheating on Kardashian, he was being accused of partying too hard. While there were rumors that they had reconciled in 2020, the two haven't officially been a couple since 2015.

Audrina Patridge & Corey Bohan

Audrina Patridge & Corey Bohan

The Hills cast member Audrina Partridge found love in the arms of BMX star Corey Bohan all the way back in 2008. However, it wasn't the happy relationship the two probably envisioned. While they did get engaged in 2015, that was after years of on-again-off-again dating and three breakups.

Things were looking up for the two in 2016, as they both got married and had a child together, but serious problems were on the horizon for the couple. In 2017, Partridge filed a restraining order on Bohan for domestic violence, and two days later she filed for divorce. The divorce was finalized in 2018 and that was the end of the couple for good.

Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen

Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen

Like lots of actors, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen found love thanks to spending countless hours spent filming together. The two met while working on the 2007 film Jumper and quickly became an item. By 2008, the two were madly in love and announced their engagement. However, the wedding would never happen.

They stayed engaged for several years, but ultimately, the split up in 2010 without saying, "I do." However, only a few months later, the couple was back together, and they stayed together long enough to have a daughter in 2014. Unfortunately, a child couldn't save this failed relationship. The two split up for good in 2017, and it really does look like the end for them.

Courteney Cox & Johnny McDaid

Courteney Cox & Johnny McDaid

Courteney Cox's relationship with Snow Patrol member Johnny McDaid hasn't always been sunshine and roses. But this is one couple that we think might be together for good this time! The two first took their relationship public in 2013, and things were looking good. They actually got engaged in the summer of 2014.

However, only a year later, the two were broken up. And, unlike some couples on this list, they didn't immediately make up. They spent six months apart--which is centuries by Hollywood relationship standards--but eventually found their way back to one another. Since then, Cox says their relationship is "better than it was before" and they've been together ever since!

Behati Prinsloo & Adam Levine

Behati Prinsloo & Adam Levine

Musician Adam Levine and Victoria's Secret model Behatin Prinsloo truly have a relationship for the 21st century--the two first became a couple over email. Levine was looking for someone to be in a music video, and while Prinsloo ultimately didn't take the job, they just never stopped writing to one another.

The two first became a couple in 2012, but they had a breakup that lasted for several months. However, in 2013, they shocked fans by announcing that they were not only back together but also engaged! Their wedding was in 2014, and since then, they've had two children together. It seems like a little break was just what they needed to really fall in love.

Nick & Vanessa Lachey

Nick & Vanessa Lachey

While former boy band member Nick Lachey might be most famous for his up and down relationship with Jessica Simpson, that's not the only time he's had a relationship with a few rough patches. He's now happily married to his wife, Vanessa, but things weren't always so cheery for the two.

In 2006, the couple became official after Vanessa starred in a music video for Lachey. The couple had a surprisingly good run until they called it quits in 2009, but that was only temporary. By the fall of that year, the two were officially back together, and they were married by 2011. It's been smooth sailing for them ever since!

Evan Peters & Emma Roberts

Evan Peters & Emma Roberts

Both Evan Peters and Emma Roberts both had starring roles on American Horror Story, but they actually met in 2012 while both on the set of Adult World. Things went downhill for the couple in 2013 after Roberts was arrested for domestic violence against Peters. However, the two didn't break up--they actually got engaged.

But that engagement never went anywhere, and the couple split up in 2015. Since that time, there have been tons of rumors about them getting back together, and while it wouldn't be the craziest thing that's ever happened, there's no hard proof they've reconciled. And honestly, if I were Peters, I would have no desire to!

Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson

Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson

In the world of swimming, Michael Phelps is a safe bet. But in the world of love? Not so much. The superstar Olympian is now happily married to former Miss California Nicole Johnson, but their relationship hasn't always been so secure. The two first started dating in 2007, but they were done by 2011.

However, a few years later in 2014 the couple got back together after some soul searching on Phelps' part. Since then, things have really been looking up for them. They got married in 2016 and have had two children together. It's clear that these two are definitely "on again"...at least for now!

Ryan Seacrest & Shayna Taylor

Ryan Seacrest & Shayna Taylor

Ryan Seacrest seems to be one of the busiest men in Hollywood, but between American Idol and his numerous other hosting duties, he has still found time to have a rocky relationship. He first began dating model Shayna Taylor in 2013, but their first run only lasted until the end of 2014.

By 2016, they were back together again, but, once again, this wouldn't last. Although the exact timeline is unclear, Seacrest and Taylor seem to have broken up again some time before 2019. However, that wasn't the final end for the duo, either! He revealed in May 2020 that he was still working on the relationship, but in June 2020 a rep confirmed that the two were done for good.

Kendall Jenner & Ben Simmons

Kendall Jenner & Ben Simmons

The Jenners and Kardashians are not exactly known for their rock-solid, enduring relationships, so it's no surprise that there was trouble in paradise between Kendall Jenner and NBA star Ben Simmons. While the two were first seen as a couple in 2018, they had already broken up just a few months later.

However, even after the breakup, the two kept hooking up, and Jenner was even spotted out and about with Simmons' mother. But it clearly just wasn't meant to be, because by 2019 it was obvious that the duo was done for good. But, considering the history between the two, who knows what will happen in the future?

Halsey & G-Eazy

Halsey & G-Eazy

Rapper G-Eazy just can't seem to resist a woman with an ear for music. Shortly after his 2017 breakup with Lana del Rey, he was already in a new relationship with musician Halsey. While the couple made it for nine months, they eventually decided to part ways in July of 2018.

However, by September of 2018, the two were spotted together once again, and insiders confirmed that they were indeed "trying to figure things out." But it's clear that they didn't actually figure anything out because only a month later they were broken up again, allegedly for good. But we'll see!

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro & Jen Harley

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro & Jen Harley

Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz has had several very public and very terrible relationships. However, his relationship with Jen Harley definitely takes the cake. The two began dating in 2017 and had a child by 2018. However, the two split after a physical fight during taping, but that wasn't the end of them.

The two reunited and were together until October of 2019. The two had another major fight that ended with Ortiz being charged with domestic violence. Since then, thankfully, the couple hasn't been spotted together. There couldn't be another couple on earth who's worse for one another than these two!

Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid

Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid

The couple had a baby together in 2020, baby Khai! However, in 2021 things in their relationship got a bit rocky.
