These diagonal pedestrian crossings

If you have ever visited Japan, you’ll know that this country is home to busy people who want to get to their destination quicker. Because of this, you will find that many cities in Japan are decked out with diagonal pedestrian crossings.

These allow people to cross to where they want to go straight away, without having to take a longer route. We bet this is amazing for those walking around, but not so great for the cars who have to try and make their way around these things.

The Exosuit

The Exosuit

The Exosuit is one of the newest Japanese inventions on this list, and it’s fair to say that it’s pretty impressive. This looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie and is one of the closest things we’ve seen when it comes to turning humans into robots.

That’s because the Exosuit essentially gives the wearer an exoskeleton that can help them with daily tasks, such as lifting heavy objects. The suit will offer more strength and durability, and lend a helping hand when needed.

The portable ashtray

The portable ashtray

While nobody can stop anybody from doing something, inventors in Japan want to ensure that smokers are keeping their surrounding areas clean. After all, nobody wants to walk around their home city, and spot ash and cigarette ends scattered around the floor.

In Japan, you’ll find that many smokers carry around their own personal and portable ashtray. This means that they don’t have to worry about finding a trash can or somewhere to put out their light, as they have it on them at all times.

This hat umbrella

This hat umbrella

Yes, it seems as though the people who live in Japan love to be greeted with all kinds of weird and wonderful umbrella inventions, and this is definitely another to add to the list. While many put hat umbrellas on their kids and their pets as a joke, it seems as though this is a legitimate invention in this country.

While it may look a little dorky, the fact that this umbrella is completely hands-free is a major advantage for busy businessmen and women who are already carrying things.

These umbrella locks

These umbrella locks

When leaving your personal belongings in a public place, it’s important to keep them safe. Yet, have you ever heard of umbrella locks before? It seems as though they are all the rage in Japan, as this allows people to keep their umbrellas safe wherever they go.

They can normally be found in malls and large department stores, which means that customers don’t have to carry their umbrellas with them as they’re searching the aisles and perusing through the products. This is a pretty good idea, actually.

The square-shaped dogs

The square-shaped dogs

There are millions of people around the world who have dogs, and it’s been noted that there are around 10 million dogs in Japan alone. Because of this, there are many inventions and products out there that supposedly help owners take care of their pooches in the best way possible.

Perhaps that’s why square-shaped dogs are now becoming increasingly common? While these dogs are no different from other dogs around the globe, a growing trend of grooming them in such a way is taking over the country.

These capsule hotels

These capsule hotels

Japanese culture is often praised for being extremely efficient, inventive, and space-saving, and it’s fair to say that this is pretty obvious when you see their capsule hotels. Unlike other hotels across the world where each individual party will get their own room, these capsule hotels can welcome oodles more people because they only provide their guests with a capsule.

These are normally bunked on top of each other and next to each other and feature a sleeping area complete with basic amenities such as a TV and electrical sockets.

The amazing vending machines

The amazing vending machines

Of course, vending machines can’t just be found in Japan. These things can be found across the world, but there’s no doubt about the fact that the vending machines in Japan are extra special. That’s because this country has a vending machine for almost anything you could think of.

Not only could you buy candy and chips from these things, but you can also buy fresh noodles, milk, fruits and vegetables, clothes, and even a book if you wanted one. Nothing is off-limits when it comes to these vending machines.

These square watermelons

These square watermelons

Inventors in Japan are constantly trying to create things that are out of the ordinary, and unlike anything they have seen before, and it seems as though shaped fruit is their latest craze. What’s so amazing about this is that these inventors have created molds for their fruit to grow in as they get larger and that ultimately changes their whole shape.

Because of this, those who live in Japan can chow down on square watermelons whenever they choose to do so. These fruits come in all different shapes and sizes, as well.

The Dinosaur hotel

The Dinosaur hotel

When have you ever been checked into your hotel room by a dinosaur? We’re gonna go ahead and assume that you haven’t unless you’ve stayed at the Weird Hotel in Japan. Not only do these robotic robots man the front desk and check you in, but they can also take your luggage up to your room.

Normally, dinosaurs are pretty scary, but these little dudes couldn’t do any more to help you if they wanted to. Plus, they look super adorable in their little hats.
