Ozzy Osbourne Craziest Moments in Pictures

The Jailbird

The Jailbird

It’s no surprise that Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne has spent his fair share of time in jails. He’s been arrested for everything from urinating on the Alamo to nearly killing his wife, Sharon Osbourne.

This 1984 mugshot of a stunning looking Ozzy in a St. Louis Blues hockey jersey is infamous. He was arrested in Memphis for public intoxication and released a few hours later after drying out to go back on tour.

Alright, we can’t show the actual craziest things Ozzy has ever done on stage, so you’ll have to settle for this picture of him doing his trademark leap. If there’s one thing about him, he’s going to put on an absolutely wild performance.

In the 80s, he was known for throwing meat into the audience and encouraging them to throw things back. This, of course, led to his most infamous moment, where he bit the head off a live bat someone had thrown on stage. Gross.

Ozzy stole the show at the 2002 White House Correspondents’ Dinner when then-President George W. Bush welcomed him by name in a room full of powerful politicians and Hollywood elite. At his name, Ozzy stood on the table and blew kisses to the crowd.

The room went into uproar, but that’s not the craziest part. He admitted later that he didn’t even like the president at the time and was already drunk off three bottles of wine. What a wild story to tell grandchildren.

Ozzy’s costume for his 1983 Bark at the Moon album cover is the stuff of nightmares. For a man that has had plenty of kooky looks, this one takes the cake. He’s dressed head to toe in werewolf makeup, prosthetics, and hair.

He got in the makeup chair at 6am, but the shoot didn’t start until 10pm. So he was decked out in his fur, claws, and disgusting teeth for a full sixteen hours. We can only imagine how many poor crew members he terrified.

Nearly Taking the Life of Someone

No one trashes a hotel room like Ozzy Osbourne. In Prague in 1995, he realized he had never thrown a TV out of a hotel room, though, and had to change that immediately.

He and guitarist Zakk Wylde dropped the television set on the sidewalk without a second thought. What they didn’t realize was that they nearly killed a smoker standing right under the window.
