A couple watching an entire tv series on netflix in one weekend.

Shows Worth Binge Watching on Netflix This Winter

With frigid temperatures closing in, it’s a good time stay in and catch up on all the latest shows. So bundle up on the couch and enter a realm of obsession with one of these worthy shows.

  1. Hemlock Grove
If you are in the mood for creepy, check out this Netflix original series. Hemlock Grove is in it’s third season so you’ll have plenty of episodes to watch. It follows the happenings in the town of Hemlock Grove, where recent brutal murders have stirred up rumors and sinister intentions.
  2. Sons of Anarchy
If gun-toting, motorcycle gang members sound exciting to you, try Sons of Anarchy. It’s a crime drama, based on the lives of a motorcycle gang, in the fictional town of Charming, California.
  3. Peep Show
This British comedy is definitely an acquired taste, but if you love The Office, it’s worth giving a try. It’s mindless, fun, and perfect for a weekend binge.
  4. Scandal
Unless you’ve had your ears plugged for the last six months, you’ve heard of Scandal. This TV show has received rave reviews for its fast-paced political drama. If you’ve got the time, catch up and see what everyone is talking about.
  5. Portlandia
One of the quirkiest shows in existence, Portlandia features character sketches with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. They bring to life some hilarious characters that will leave you laughing and saying “what?!” all at the same time.
  6. The Wonder Years
If you want to reminisce, then this will be perfect for you. Watching Kevin awkwardly put the moves on Winnie Cooper, is a perfectly sweet cringe moment.
  7. 30 Rock
Tina Fey is a comedy genius and there is no better place to enjoy it than 30 Rock. The hilarious group of characters will keep you laughing through the entire series. Tracy Morgan’s portrayal of Tracy Jordan is absolutely side splitting.
  8. Doctor Who
It’s definitely not a new show, but it is gaining more admirers here in the US. This British science fiction program originally aired in 1963. It has received several reboots over the years, but it’s worth watching all the way through.
  9. Parks and Recreation
Catch up before the last season starts in January. This mockumentary follows the workers of the Parks and Recreation department from Pawnee, Indiana. Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is a strong woman hilariously trying to pave her way through local government. If you are a fan of Chris Pratt, you really want to watch just for his character Andy Dwyer, who is one of the funniest on the show.
  10. Friday Night Lights
This small town football drama is surprisingly heartfelt and shows a whole other side to football. Plenty of football for the guys and drama for the girls. A critical darling, the show never found a large audience, until Netflix, that is.
