The Craziest Celebrity Conspiracy Theories of All Time

Jennifer Lawrence Fell On Purpose

Jennifer Lawrence Fell On Purpose

Jennifer Lawrence famously fell at the Oscars while going up the stage to accept her Academy Award. It was a moment that was embarrassing enough for her, made even worse by the fact that people think she staged the whole thing. The conspiracy claims the “accident” was a publicity stunt for herself and dress designer Dior.

The problem with this theory though is that it seems unlikely that the actress would think falling was good for her career. While it did make us love Jennifer Lawrence even more, for showing us even more humanity, there was no way she could anticipate that reaction. But moreover, it doesn’t really look good for Dior to have someone tripping in their dresses.

Anthony Bourdain was Murdered

Anthony Bourdain was Murdered

Anthony Bourdain was a renowned chef, author and TV personality who seemed to love life, and especially food, so it was a big shock to the world when we heard the news of his suicide. But according to one theory, Anthony Bourdain knew too much and his suicide was staged.

At the time of his death, he was working in France, filming an episode of “Parts Unknown.” His body was discovered by a friend and as reports came out, it was suggested then that it might not really have been a suicide. The conspiracy claims that Bourdain was about to expose a child prostitution ring that included many notable figures. There wasn’t much evidence to support the story but it had people talking, regardless.

Tupac

Tupac

Is Tupac still alive? Well, ask anyone who’s a fan and they’ll say he most definitely is still alive somewhere. People have been conjuring theories about Tupac’s death since we found out the horrible news in 1996. However, the sheer number of “sightings” of the famous rapper since point people to believe he faked his death.

People who buy into this theory say that Tupac’s murder plot was absolutely real, but that he just faked his death once he found out about the plan to end his life. People have gone on the record saying that they’ve seen Tupac all over the world, the most recent famed sighting happened in Mexico.

Selena

Selena

Selena was a pop phenomenon. One of the first voices of Tejano to go mainstream. Selena rose to fame through hard work and dedication to her passion. The spark in her eyes made fans fall in love with her at first glance, and those around her just couldn’t get enough.

When someone is so naturally gifted it’s not uncommon for people to get jealous of them. When news broke that the infamous Yolanda Saldívar had shot Selena in the back, people were in an uproar! 3,000 fans showed up to her vigil in Corpus Christi, but rumors spread like wildfire saying that she wasn’t actually dead and that the casket was empty.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks

People have some serious suspicions about Tom Hanks. When you’ve been famous for that long, it’s not unlikely that you’d be a little odd. Tom Hanks is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and people have been speculating that he’s in on a secret plan involving human trafficking in Hollywood.

Followers of the internet conspiracy theory group Q-anon believe that Tom Hanks is in a secret cabal that is using the blood of children as a rejuvenation serum. Listen, we’re not one to take sides with creepy celebs, but it would be pretty insane if this was actually true.

Katy "JonBenet" Perry

Katy "JonBenet" Perry

Is Katy Perry actually Katy Perry? Well, some people think she’s not who she says she is. Internet conspiracy theorists claim that Katy Perry is in fact the late JonBenet Ramsay. Since Katy Perry’s rise to fame, people have been whispering that she looks rather familiar…like JonBenet Ramsay!

Jonbenet was a child pageant queen that was sadly strangled to death in her home. The nation was gripped by the news of what happened to the innocent child and she became significant to pop culture. However, people think her death was a ploy by the freemasons and the Illuminati to turn Jonbenet into Katy Perry…all to make a little money.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney

Die-hard fans of The Beetles say that the height of their fame was around 1966. Since then, it just hasn’t been the same…why? Well, allegedly Paul McCartney died in a fiery car crash in 1966 and the band replaced him with a look-a-like so that no one would notice. Hollywood has long been accused of replacing celebrities with body doubles, so it’s not that far-fetched.

While the notion of replacing a member of the most famous band in the world sounds a little unbelievable, conspiracy theorists have a pretty convincing case. They say there are clues hidden in album covers and song lyrics over the years that point to the truth. Paul McCartney, or his look-a-like, even released a song with lyrics saying, "Those freaks was right when they said you was dead."

Lorde is Actually in Her 40s

Lorde is Actually in Her 40s

Lorde was supposedly just 17 when she came out with hits like “Royals” – lyrics that are well beyond what a normal teenager might write. Does that mean she wasn’t really 17? Who is to say? But one theory is adamant that Lorde is actually a lot older than she claims to be.

Lorde says that she was born in 1996 but the theory questions this pointing out that she looks very mature for her age. But it isn’t just her looks. The theory also claims that the content of her songs is too mature, and that she seems to have wisdom beyond her age. So, basically because she doesn’t look or sound like someone in her 20s, she must be lying about her age.

The Real Avril Lavigne Died and Was Replaced by an Actress

The Real Avril Lavigne Died and Was Replaced by an Actress

Singer Avril Lavigne was one of the biggest music artists of the early 2000s. But after her initial albums, her music turned out very different and some say her whole look changed in more ways than one. One theory claims that the real Avril Lavigne is now long dead and replaced with an actress that looks like her - and was taught to sing and perform like her too!

Moreover, the theory says that Avril Lavigne died in 2003 after the release of her album Let Go. Her body double is said to be Melissa Vandella with the name Melissa having been spotted in a past photoshoot. Lavigne has adamantly denied these claims - but of course, she has! You can’t fool us, Melissa.

Steve Jobs Faked His Death

Steve Jobs Faked His Death

Steve Jobs, the genius behind Apple is believed to have died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. But what if we told you that was not true at all, and that a man from Reddit knows the truth? A photo taken in Egypt revealed a man who looked an awful lot like Steve Jobs. I mean, really, it’s uncanny.

This Steve Jobs look-alike eve does the man’s famous chin grab. It was questioned that if he was Steve Jobs, then why doesn’t he have an Apple Watch? However, that’s obviously to throw us off, because wearing one would only make him look even more like Steve Jobs as if that were even possible.

Britney Spears was on the Bush Administration Payroll

Britney Spears was on the Bush Administration Payroll

There may have been more to Britney Spears's antics in the 2000s than what we know according to one theory that says Spears was actually a paid White House operative for the Bush administration. The theory says that every time the Bush administration messed up, Britney would have a new scandal that hit the news.

One piece of evidence is that Britney Spears had announced her separation from Kevin Federline a day before the midterm election. On another date, with Bush’s approval rating at an all-time low, Britney was seen driving with her baby in her lap rather than in a car seat. Then later, in 2007, when it was announced that Al-Qaeda was reforming, Britney shaved her head and attacked a paparazzo. You can’t make this up and a true detective doesn’t see coincidences.

Keanu Reeves is Immortal

Keanu Reeves is Immortal

Is Keanu Reeves another ageless, immortal wonder walking the Earth? Possibly, according to one theory. There’s even a webpage dedicated to the theory called Keanu Reeves is Immortal. It shows portraits and photos of Reeves throughout the years. And if we are wrong for believing this theory then we don’t want to be right.

Surely, if anyone was immortal, it would have to be Neo, right? The theory on the website also claims that Reeves is in fact Charlemagne, King of the Franks, and Paul Mounet of the 19th century. While there is no clear evidence available for this theory, you have to admit there is a resemblance once you see it.

Stephen King Killed John Lennon

Stephen King Killed John Lennon

John Lennon was infamously killed by Mark David Chapman in 1980 – or so we thought. What if that wasn’t the case? What if it was one of the most prolific writers of the 20th century? What if it was Stephen King? That’s what Florida resident Steve Lightfoot thinks and he even interrupted a town council meeting to talk about it.

Did Stephen King have a motive? Absolutely not but why should that stop him? The reasoning behind this theory is that Stephen King kind of looks like Mark David Chapman and if that’s not evidenced enough, then we don’t know what is. The theory further claimed that Nixon and Reagan both permitted King to kill Lennon as they hated his anti-war efforts.

Marisa Tomei Received Her Oscar by mistake

Marisa Tomei Received Her Oscar by mistake

Marisa Tomei is certainly a good actress. There should be no question about it and she certainly wouldn’t have been even nominated for an Academy Award if she wasn’t. But some are not convinced that she actually one. A conspiracy that has existed since 1993 suggests that she received it by mistake.

The actress was up against four other prestigious actresses, including Joan Plowright, Judy Davis, Miranda Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave. Paired with the fact that she was not a fan-favorite to win that year, it is believed that 74-year-old actor and Oscar presenter Jack Palance was unable to read the winner’s name correctly and instead read the last name on the teleprompter.

Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain

Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain’s death was yet another questioned celebrity suicide. However, there is some evidence that supports the claim. For one, there were no distinguishable fingerprints on the shotgun used and Cobain had not been wearing gloves. Tom Grant, who was hired by Courtney Love to find Cobain, pointed to even more evidence.

Grant suggested that the amount of heroin found in his body would have been too much for him to be able to even pull the shotgun trigger. He went a step further in suggesting it was Courtney Love that killed him. The motive? Kurt Cobain was planning on divorcing his wife and allegedly asked his attorney to draw up a new will and cut her out of it. And the fact that his body wasn’t discovered until days after his death suggests that they were indeed estranged. Cobain was said to have a net worth of $150 million.

Nicolas Cage is a Vampire

Nicolas Cage is a Vampire

Nicolas Cage is already a man who looks great for his age but just how does he do it? A centuries-old photo of a man greatly resembling Nicolas Cage, which you can find online, led many to wonder if the actor was in fact a vampire. Meanwhile, the man who found the photo tried to sell it on eBay for a whopping $1 million. While the resemblance of the photo is pretty spot-on, Nicolas Cage insists that it is not true.

In response to the photo, Cage told talk show host Dave Letterman, “There is a resemblance, but, how can I be polite about this…it’s a slowed-down version of me.” He also countered the theory that he was a vampire saying, “There’s a photograph of me and you can’t take pictures of vampires.” That’s a pretty compelling argument, so we are personally going to have to debunk this theory.

Beyoncé Did Not Really Give Birth

Beyoncé Did Not Really Give Birth

Beyoncé obviously looked amazing after having her first child which made people question whether she ever actually gave birth herself. A conspiracy claims that Beyoncé had faked the entire pregnancy, even walking around with a prosthetic belly and that she actually used a surrogate to deliver her and Jay-Z’s baby.

Beyoncé herself shut down the rumors, calling them “stupid” and “ridiculous” among other things in the HBO documentary “Life Is But a Dream,” suggesting that she would never be that vain. Then five years after having her first child, Beyoncé helped lay the rumors to rest by announcing she was pregnant with twins.

Stanley Kubrick was Hired to Fake the Moon Landing

Stanley Kubrick was Hired to Fake the Moon Landing

We clearly have the ability to send countless objects and people into space and yet people are still not convinced that we, mankind, have ever actually been on the moon. Some believe that the moon landing was a fake production that was filmed by none other than director Stanley Kubrick.

While he certainly would have been the only director to pull it off, this rumor mostly stems from the fact that Stanley Kubrick filmed the classic sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey a year prior to the moon landing. Filmmaker Patrick T. Murray claimed he had footage of Kubrick confessing but it was all spliced together in a totally bonkers, unwatchable documentary called Shooting Stanley Kubrick.

Taylor Swift is a Satanist

Taylor Swift is a Satanist

You might not like her music but calling Taylor Swift a Satanist seems a bit much. Nevertheless, that is one rumor that has been going around once fans took a closer look at famous Satanist Zeena LaVey. They do look remarkably similar but does that mean they are the same person? Yes, yes it does.

But for real now, Zeena LaVey was born in 1953 and that would make Taylor Swift nearly 70 years old. She looks awfully young to be 70…unless the powers of Satan are keeping her youthful. And come to think of it, we’ve never seen them in the same room together…

Stevie Wonder Can See

Stevie Wonder Can See

Stevie Wonder is famous for two things: being a great musician and being blind. But perhaps he is given more attention than he would otherwise get because he is blind, at least that’s what this conspiracy theory suggests. It suggests that Stevie Wonder is faking the whole blind thing and has been able to see this whole time.

Where’s the evidence you may ask? Well for one there’s footage of him pickup up a microphone. Elton Jon witnessed him driving a snowmobile, and he recognized Shaq in an elevator. And at one point he made a comment to TMZ about wanting to be a camera man. And lastly, he enjoys basketball games – and if you can’t see anything, then what is the point? Gives you something to think about.
