The Oddest Couples from 90-Day Fiance

Nicole & Azan

Nicole & Azan

If there ever was a terrible couple that deserved one another, it’s definitely Nicole and Azan. On the show, the two seem to constantly have something to fight about--which makes their relationship even stranger. The two are clearly miserable, and yet they can’t seem to quit each other.

Azan has straight-up admitted to only being about “55%” physically attracted to Nicole. But lest you think she’s the victim here, she’s ready to lose her temper at the drop of a hat.

When Nicole goes to visit Azan in his home country of Morocco, she makes absolutely zero attempt to blend in or learn the customs. And that inevitably leads to a lot of obnoxious fighting between the two.

Sure, he might have dragged you on a hike through the desert, but you almost got both you killed by the Moroccan morality police for PDA. These two deserve to be together, if only to protect the innocent public from them.

Mark & Nikki

Mark & Nikki

For Mark and Nikki, age might be nothing but a number, but for viewers, their relationship was just straight-up strange. If you’re going to have a May-December romance, at least do it before your kids are adults and things get weird.

First, you’ve got the glaring age gap--Mark is a full 40 years older than 19-year-old Nikki. But that’s just the tip of the weird iceberg.

There was also Mark’s daughter--who was older than Nikki but still debating on whether to call her “Mom.” Anyone seriously considering that is clearly out of their mind, so crazy must run in this family.

And then finally we’ve got Mark’s car, which he seems to like more than Nikki--considering he wouldn’t even let her touch the windows. Fans are in the dark about whether Mark and Nikki are still together, but I’m betting on no.

Darcey & Jesse

Darcey & Jesse

The only thing stable about Darcey and Jesse’s relationship on 90 Day Fiance was its instability. It didn’t seem like there was a moment that went by on-screen when this couple wasn’t at each other’s throats for something.

The couple would have serious fights, like about Darcey’s drinking, but things frequently verged into ridiculous territory--like the time they had a fight about whether or not Darcey threw a shoe at Jesse. This couple will not and should not last.

Darcey & Jesse (Continued)

And surprise, surprise--they didn’t last. Darcey has moved on to another beau, who’s either just as awful as she is or incredibly ignorant about his girlfriend’s past.

But that doesn’t mean that Darcey and Jesse aren’t still actively make each other’s lives miserable. As recent as July 2020, the couple were having some very public and embarrassing fights on social media.

Kalani & Asuelu

Kalani & Asuelu

There was a bit of a culture difference between American Kalani and her Samoan boyfriend Asuelu. But even cultural divides can’t completely explain the craziness that went on between this couple.

Like every couple on this list, the two pretty much fought every second the cameras were rolling, but things didn’t get really weird until the reunion show. Upset by some of the other cast members’ comments, Asuelu begins barking like a dog before he storms off stage.

Surprisingly, Kalani isn’t not super thrilled with the way her (now) husband acts. And it looks like she might actually be ready to call it quits.

In August of 2020, Kalani made a social media post where she lays out what’s been on her mind. She says: “I  don’t want to be married anymore. I love him, but I have to start loving myself and my boys more.”

Angela & Michael

Angela & Michael

Angela and Michael are such a mess that they don’t even have Michael’s visa figured out before the cameras start rolling. Their 90 days are clearly off to a GREAT start. And things only get weirder.

On a physical level, Angela and Michael are clearly a match, considering we’re treated to a terrifying scene where she licks body paint off her Nigerian beau while he wears Donald Trump boxers. Good for them--but not so good for our eyes.

And it appears that this is at least one couple who has stuck things out. Over the years, the two have gone back and forth about getting married, but they finally made it official.

According to photos, the two married in Nigeria in early 2020. They chose Michael’s home country for the ceremony because their immigration lawyer believed it would give them a better chance of securing him a US visa.

Anfisa & Jorge

Anfisa & Jorge

Pretty much everyone on 90 Day Fiance argues, but Anfisa and Jorge took it to a completely different level. Anfisa was never afraid to fight dirty--from slapping her fiance to keying his car. And did we mention she was openly a gold digger? At least she’s honest!

Things got even stranger after the show when Jorge was arrested for getting caught with hundreds of pounds of marijuana. We’re not sure how someone behind bars is supposed to provide Anfisa with the luxurious life she wants, but the couple is still inexplicably together!

Or, at least, they were. The couple finally called it quits in August of 2020 when Jorge filed for divorce on their third anniversary.

The divorce comes only a few months after Jorge was released from prison after serving a two-year term. During his time in jail, he lost some major weight, but maybe he should have spent that time working on his relationship instead of his body.

Chantel & Pedro

Chantel & Pedro

Chantel and Pedro may have been crazy, but unlike other cast members, they managed to take their craziness and turn it into a spin-off series. But really, a lot of their drama centered around Chantel’s family.

The couple wasn’t exactly honest about Pedro being in the country on a K-1 Visa--Chantel had told her family he was here on a student visa. They only came clean with a week left to get married, and Chantel’s family lost it at the news.

They even went to the Dominican Republic for a second wedding, where their families continued to fight even more. Maybe a third wedding would do the trick?

Despite the drama, the two have managed to stay together. But hopefully they’re not lying to each other as much as they were lying to their families!

Ashley & Jay

Ashley & Jay

Most, if not all, of the marriages on this show are green card marriages. But none of them have been green card-ier than Ashley and Jay’s “relationship.”

Jay pretty much all but stated that he was getting married for a green card, and it was extremely uncomfortable to watch Ashley deny the obvious. Obviously, this is not going to end well for anyone.

(Image via Facebook)

What we end up with is a scene where Ashley learns he cheated on her the day after their wedding. The couple divorced--but not before he cheated on her a few more times!

Bizarrely enough, that wasn’t the end for this terrible duo. In May 2020 the couple inexplicably celebrated their third wedding anniversary. That’s right. Despite all the madness on the show, the two managed to get remarried and find a way to stay together.

Colt & Larissa

Colt & Larissa

Are Colt and Larissa okay? Not in a relationship way but in a brain way. Because both of them seem a little...off.

For one, we’ve got Larissa who’s ready to pick a fight at the drop of a hat--including with Colt’s family. But then you’ve also got Colt who just sat there and smiled like a crazy person as Larissa and his mother fought about Larissa flushing her wedding ring down the toilet. None of these people make sense.

Needless to say, this couple didn’t make it. In fact, the police were called before it was all said and done with.

In 2019, Larissa was arrested for domestic battery after scratching Colt in the face during an altercation. He filed for divorce a few days after her arrest.

Mohamed & Danielle

Mohamed & Danielle

Every couple has its rough patches or awkward moments, but not Mohamed and Danielle. Their entire relationship was one giant awkward moment.

Like a lot of guys on the show, Mohamed is only interested in a green card and makes no attempt to pretend to be attracted to Danielle--but then Danielle doesn’t make anything easier on herself by lying that’s she’s rich.

(Image via Facebook)

Mohamed & Danielle (Continued)

Mohamed & Danielle (Continued)

And then there’s the scene where he doesn’t want to sleep with her because of...smells. It might be a valid complaint, but it’s got to be mortifying to have your awkward sex life broadcast to the nation.

It’s all cringe inducing. Needless to say, this “romance” didn’t last, and the couple ultimately divorced. Although as of summer 2020 they’ve been “talking”--so we may get another crazy episode out of them yet!

Paul & Karine

Paul & Karine

Paul’s trip to meet his girlfriend Karine is one of the most awkward things in 90 Day Fiance history. When packing for this trip to Brazil, Paul includes a lock of his mother’s hair, so we’re already off to a great start.

While in Brazil, Paul wears a condom while swimming, demands Karine get an STD test, and abandons her when she gets mugged. Needless to say, they’re not gonna make it.

Except they did stay together! Sort of. Like every 90-Day Fiance relationship, it’s complicated.

While the two are technically married with children, they’ve been estranged for a while now--which stems a fight and subsequent restraining order that Karine took out on Paul.

David & Annie

David & Annie

When it comes to David and Annie, most fans remember their crazy living conditions. David was really not a fan of having a job, which meant that he had to get creative when it comes to housing his wife-to-be.

His solution? A storage unit. While Annie is understandably upset about living there, David is just thrilled that he won’t have to pay rent. What a class act.

Bizarrely enough, this couple has gone on to be one of the most beloved duos in the series. Despite the rough start to their marriage, the two seem to be genuinely happy with each other these days.

David finally found a job with a marketing company, and after Annie got her green card, she was legally allowed to work in the United States and started a cooking business. The two have really turned their situation around!

Ricky & Ximena

Ricky & Ximena

Ricky wins the award for sleaziest appearance by a long shot. When we meet him on the show, he’s headed to Colombia--with a wife waiting for him back in Texas.

He initially shows up to woo Melissa, but when she’s not into it, he turns his sights on Ximena instead. While he acts like she’s his number one, Ximena eventually finds out she’s his number two--or number three, if you count the wife!

(Image via Facebook)

Ricky & Ximena (Continued)

Ricky & Ximena (Continued)

Ximena called it quits with Ricky, which was fine with him because he wanted to give it another shot with his wife. What can I say? The man likes having options.

While the two initially did reconcile, they eventually divorced. Since then, it appears if Ricky hasn’t had much luck in love.

Luis & Molly

Luis & Molly

Luis knows what really can ruin a relationship--witchcraft. This holy man upbraids his American wife when he finds no Christian Bible in her home, as well as a statue of Buddha. Then he grills her about her knowledge of witchcraft. How romantic!

However, the weirdest part of their whole episode was that it was a sham. Luis and Molly were already married at the time of filming--they were just pretending to be dating.

(Image via Facebook)

Luis & Molly (Continued)

Luis & Molly (Continued)

Despite the deception, this couple didn’t last. They were divorced only a year after tying the knot. I blame witches.

However, the drama got really juicy when Luis married another woman after his divorce. Molly accused him of using her to get into the country so he could marry this woman. But unfortunately for them all, this marriage lasted even less time than his first.

Leida & Eric

Leida & Eric

Most of the time on the show, it’s the foreign men who flaunt the fact that they’re marrying American women for green cards. However, Leida proves that the ladies can be just a sleazy as the men when she admits to Eric that she’s basically marrying him just to stay in the country.

(Image via Onlineforlove.com)

That might hurt, but Eric is just as scummy as she is. She was under the impression that Eric was wealthy, but when she flies in from Indonesia, she’s shocked to find him living in a dirty, one-bedroom apartment.

As awful as it sounds, these nutjobs are still a couple. And what’s the secret to their happy marriage? Why, a restraining order against Eric’s teenage daughter, of course!

Leida and Eric’s daughter, Tasha, notoriously butted heads until Leida decided she wanted to take out a restraining order to rid them of Tasha for good. While Eric initially protested, he eventually went along with his new wife’s demands.
