5 Bacon-Lover’s Recipes

Is there anything better than bacon? Everyone loves it, and it’s becoming more and more popular these days. There are many recipes with bacon that are pretty simple to make. Here are five recipes any bacon-lover will love as well as how to cook the best bacon you’ve ever had.

Perfect Maple Bacon

Ingredients:

1 pound bacon
3 tablespoons maple syrup
 
Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Lay out the bacon without overlapping any slices.
  4. Liberally brush maple syrup over both sides of the bacon.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven. Cook for 18–25 minutes, removing the bacon every 10 minutes to baste with maple syrup.
  6. Baste once again after removing from oven and serve.

Bacon Ranch Corn Dip

Ingredients:

3 cups sweet corn, frozen
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
1/2 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
4 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
 
Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the corn, ranch dressing, sour cream, and cheeses.
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste—no more than a few pinches.
  3. Top with bacon and serve warm or cold.

Bacon Strip Pancakes

Ingredients:

1 pound maple bacon
Pancake mix (the amount depends on how many pancakes you want with your bacon)
Your favorite syrup
 
Directions:

  1. Heat a griddle to 350–375°F.
  2. Prepare your pancake mixture according to instructions on the box.
  3. Place raw bacon on the griddle and fry until completely cooked.
  4. Pour pancake batter over each slice of cooked bacon.
  5. Cook pancakes until bubbles rise to the top and pop, or until golden on the bottom.
  6. Flip the pancakes and allow them to cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  7. Serve with maple syrup for dipping.

Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops

Ingredients:

12 slices bacon
12 sea scallops (size u10)
1 lemon

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Cook bacon in the oven or on the stove until slightly brown. Do not cook until crispy. Do not drain the grease from the pan or baking sheet.
  3. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel and allow the grease to soak away.
  4. Begin wrapping scallops with the bacon, using toothpicks to hold the bacon in place.
  5. Place the scallops in the pan or on the baking sheet with the bacon grease and cook for five minutes on each side. Do not overcook.
  6. Once done, remove the scallops and place on a paper towel to soak up the bacon grease.
  7. When ready to serve, squeeze lemon juice over the scallops and remove toothpicks.

Beer-Candied Bacon

Ingredients:

1 pound thick-cut bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup beer of your choice
 
Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Combine brown sugar and beer in a small bowl and mix until it is a thin syrup.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and place the bacon on the sheet, avoiding overlapping the slices.
  4. Cook the bacon for approximately 10 minutes, depending on thickness.
  5. Remove from the oven and brush both sides of the bacon with the syrup.  Return to the oven and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Continue this process 2–3 times, until the bacon is crispy and you’ve used all of the glaze.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for an hour before serving.

Maple Bacon Blondies

Ingredients:

1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
7 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup butterscotch or white chocolate chips
4 slices bacon, cooked, crispy, and crumbled

Glaze ingredients:

1 cup confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1–2 tablespoons milk or cream
 
Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl.
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
  5. Stir in the maple syrup and remove from heat. Allow the mixture to cool until lukewarm.
  6. Stir the eggs into the flour mixture one at a time. Add the vanilla, walnuts, and chips into the mixture.
  7. Pour the flour mixture into the pan and bake for 20–24 minutes. Allow to cool.
  8. Mix together the glaze ingredients until completely combined.
  9. Pour the glaze over the bars and sprinkle with bacon and/or nuts.
  10. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, then cut into 2-inch squares and serve.
