5 Ingenious Kitchen Design Ideas

If you’ve ever wanted to build your own house, there are about a million ideas to go over for your kitchen design. Here are five inspired ideas for kitchens you should consider when designing or remodeling your dream kitchen.

  1. Hidden Outlets

You can never have too many outlets in one room, but nobody wants to see them. Why not install outlets under the cabinets to merge functionality with aesthetic appeal. You can also go for pop up outlets. These outlets are cleverly hidden until you need them, freeing up counter space while still providing electricity when and where you need it. You can also install outlets inside of drawers for easy access.

  2. Cut Up

Instead of having false drawer fronts, install pull out cutting boards in shallow drawers. You no longer have to dig around for a cutting board, and you are making good use of space that is normally wasted. If you install a cutting board drawer, make sure you choose one with a hole through it. That way you can place the trash can directly underneath so you can clean up as you chop.

  3. Banish Dirt

Installing a home vacuum system in your kitchen is a little expensive, but very cool. It’s difficult to get all the dirt off your floor with a dustpan and broom. Why not sweep the dirt and debris directly under the baseboards into the mouth of a built-in vacuum? It saves time, keeps your house clean, and is completely convenient for kitchen spills and everyday messes.

  4. Install Storage in Every Nook

If you’ve got extra space, take advantage of every inch. Instead of letting wall space go to waste, install narrow pull out shelving for spices. If you have a tiny nook next to the fridge, install a flat broom closet. You can even request for built-in wall shelving in between studs in your kitchen walls for cookbooks, pots and pans, or small appliances. When remodeling cabinets, install full extension pull out shelves inside for easy access to pots and pans without wasting precious space.

  5. Take Out the Trash

Everyone hates taking out the trash. Get rid of the middleman and install garbage chutes directly to your outside container. You can take out the trash while staying inside, and you don’t have to worry about offensive odors or nasty trash messes in the meantime. You can go from cooking to cleanup in one easy step.
