How to Revamp Your Home Office into an Inspiring Escape

Tired of the blandness of your home office? Have your latest ideas been as boring as your beige walls? You can easily change that! Working in a space that doesn’t inspire you can really put a damper on your drive and creativity. Thankfully, you can transform your drab office into an inspiring escape with just a little time and effort. If you do not want to spend a lot of money on new, beautiful office furniture, there are still quite a few highly effective ideas you can incorporate while staying in your budget.

Surround Yourself with Your Interests

One of the simplest things you can do to revamp your office and remind yourself why you’re working so hard is to create a display of the people or things that you love. Buy some inexpensive frames from your local arts and crafts store and print off a couple photographs of your family. Seeing their smiling faces on your desk from time to time is sure to put a smile on your face as well. If you are passionate about antique cars, find a calendar that is full of some of your favorites and hang it beside your computer. Every time you mark an event on your calendar, you can see a photograph of the car you are saving up to purchase.

Let Your Walls Talk

Just because it’s called a home office doesn’t mean it has to look like one. If you are able to paint your walls any color you want, there’s no reason not to! If you want to go for a bold look that reflects your drive to succeed, pick a deep red or purple. For a calming effect, go for an earthy green, which studies have shown to help your mind and body relax. If you are going to have clients coming to your office, you probably want it to look sophisticated. A great color for this is deep, charcoal gray. If you pick dark-colored walls, add some light-colored furniture to balance it out. If you decide on light-colored walls, choose some darker furniture to add contrast.

Liven it up

Add some life your home office. A cute dog or cat is probably too distracting for you to accomplish anything, but this is where plants are perfect. Not only will they add some organic beauty and color, they’ll also convert the carbon dioxide you exhale into the much more pleasant oxygen that you breathe. Don’t be afraid of having a plant just because you think you will not be able to take care of it. There are lots of plants you can buy that require very little care, such as succulents. You will reap countless mental benefits as a result of not being the only living thing in the room and surrounding yourself with low-maintenance, beautiful plants.
