30 Hairstyles That Will Rule 2020

Shaggy Pixie Cuts

Shaggy pixies are totally back! Whether you choose to chop it off or do a little sneaky, sneaky and pin it back, pixies are all the rage. This pixie is all about longer touseled pieces that give a "I woke up this way" vibe.  What we love most about pixies is that they're so low maintenance that they work out for literally anyone. Also, you use less product in the morning. What we're saying is that it pays for itself.

Reddish Browns

This is the year to go a rich reddish-brown. This color totally works on pretty much every skin tone and is an easy choice for naturally brown hair.

Sure, this color is often for the fall, but we say “why not wear it all year?” It’s beautiful and can change the way you look. Seriously, have you ever seen someone with light hair dye their hair brown? It's such a big change that they look totally different!

Brushed-Out Curls

Tell all of your curly-haired friends that curls are back with a vengeance. For those that don't naturally have bouncy, flouncy hair like this, you can get the look using a curler or a perm. Since longer hair can be such a pain, a perm might be a better option considering how long it’d take to put it all into curlers. For shorter hair, grab yourself some curlers and do a little tousling in the morning for the same look.

Low Messy Bun

Drop that high, messy bun and go for a lower version. It's less painful, less stress on your hair, and so much less effort.

Side-Swept Bangs

We love side-swept bangs for a couple of reasons. First of all, it gives you something to do with your bangs as you grow out blunt bangs. Second, the messy look has a certain je ne sais quoi. To get them to lay properly, just be sure to blow-dry them in the direction you want. A little hairspray should tame unruly bangs.

The Lob

Let's talk about the Lob. The Lob, aka "long bob," is a short and layered hairstyle that's usually slightly longer (around shoulder-length) in the front. It’s one of the most-searched-for hairstyles on Pinterest, and a big one for celebs nowadays. Celebrities like Lucy Hale, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba rock it on the reg, but it looks good on literally everyone.

One reason the Lob is the best is that it’s long enough to give you “long” hair without all that weight. It's also cooler than long hair during the summer, but you still have enough to tie up your hair on particularly hot days!

Messy, Curly Bob

Messy curly bobs are so in right now. They're the same length as the sleek bob, but it's got this unkempt look. It's a pretty dang good excuse to rock bedhead throughout the day. Just flip, spray, tousle, and you're set!

High Chignon

Sure, the low chignon gets all the love, but what about the high chignon? Finally, it's seeing the spotlight, too.  It’s a funky style that will modernize your fancy outfit.

This look is pretty easy to get. Just put your hair in a ponytail, leaving a little gap between your head and your hair tie, and slip the end of your ponytail into the gap and gently pull until you have a bun. Finally, wrap the rest of your hair around the hair tie. To hold it in place, secure with bobby pins!

Deep Side Part

Has the "middle" part ever gone out of style? Not really, but the deep side part is going to make a huge comeback. While we admit that the middle part is easier to manage, the deep side part has this put-together look that can't be denied.

Natural Hair

This year is going to be a more diverse year. We can only go up, right? That means that it's time to rock what the good lord gave you! Natural hair is here to stay, and we're excited to see it all over the place. It doesn't matter what texture you have. Wear it proudly, long or short. Natural hair is beautiful.

Wet Look

Love it or hate it, the wet look is here to stay. This year, stylists are pairing it with deep side parts with a smooth back. To modernize it, the ends are left dry.

Let's talk about why this style is good. First, wet hair is incredibly easy to accomplish. All you have to do is smooth your hair back after a shower. Add a little hairspray or gel and voila! What could be easier than that? Second, it doesn't require any heating tools, and that means you damage your hair less. It’s a great way to give your locks a bit of a break after using heating tools all week.

Air-Dried Texture

Love your texture! No matter what texture you have, embrace it because it's in style. Put down those heating tools and give your hair a bit of a break. If you need a curling iron to touch up a few pieces, then go for it, but this year is all about air-dried.

Tight Curls

Curls are totally in, and the tighter (and bigger), the better. Just try to avoid damaging your hair when you're trying to achieve this look. It's easier than you think! There are plenty of no-heat tutorials out there if you search, and we always suggest less heat.

Bungee Ponytails

Regular ponytails are fine, but they can be a bit...boring. For those that want a little something new, give bungee ponys a shot. This style is a ponytail with a thin, brightly colored bungee cord tied throughout the hair. It uses a bit of hair to hide the ponytail holder, making it look so put-together. It looks like you spent forever on your hair, but really, you spent minutes.

Intricate Braids

Game of Thrones and Vikings clearly have impacted our hairstyles. These intricate braids are everywhere, so it's time to watch YouTube tutorials to learn how to get the perfect braid!

Volumized Top Knot

If you’re looking for an easy and achievable hairstyle, try a volumized top knot! Instead of slicking your hair straight into an updo, give it a little tease before pulling it up. This will give your top knot the height and volume you so desire.

Long, Textured Cut

While we love hair, long hair that’s all one length can get boring. To liven up your long locks, add some layers. This textured look will give your hair a much-needed boost. You can even add texture spray to your lengthy layers to give your hair more shape and body.

Blunt Bob

This year, it’s all about the blunt bob. This versatile and customizable cut is perfect for hair of any type and texture. The short hairstyle is cut into a straight line that emphasizes and flatters the face! It’s also quick and easy to style, which is perfect for the girl on-the-go.

Shoulder-Length Curls

A little longer than the bob haircut, the lob is cut just at the shoulders. While anyone can rock this cut, it’s especially trendy for those with curly hair! Typically, you’d get a cut while your hair is straight, but cut a little longer than shoulder-length. This way, when your curls return, they’ll shrink up to the ideal lob-length.

Bed Head Waves

What’s so great about bed-head hair is that it looks different on everyone. If you don’t wake up with celebrity-level messy waves, you can fake it! With the help of a curling iron and your favorite bottle of hairspray, you can get the tousled bed-head waves of your dreams.

Middle Part

If you feel like your hair has zero volume, switch your part. Not only will this give your hair a little height, but it will also change your look! Your locks will fall evenly down the sides of your face, which is flattering on the majority of face shapes. If you need inspo, look at all the celebs rocking this iconic ‘70s hairstyle.

Slicked-Back Ponytail

Slicked-back ponytails are never going out of style. They continue to be seen on the heads of models on runways, celebrities on red carpets, and beauty bloggers on Instagram. Whether you prefer a high pony or a low pony, this hairstyle is always chic, sophisticated, and fuss-free. And it can be worn with a deep side part, middle part, or no part at all!

‘70s-Inspired Curtain Bangs

The ‘70s-inspired curtain bangs have made a comeback. They’re low-maintenance and increasingly popular. And I don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon! The center-parted bangs will frame your face and emphasize your facial features. This style works for curly, wavy, or straight locks and is flattering on bangs that are long or short.

Messy Updos

Tousled updos are an easy way to glam up your look. And because they should look effortless, they don’t have to be perfect. Curls, wisps, and braids can go every which way and still look posh. The best part is that an updo will conceal and disguise oily hair if you don’t have time to squeeze in a wash!

Curly Shag Cut

Textured hair is having a moment, which is why the curly shag cut is the newest trend. This hairstyle is layered in a way that accentuates natural hair. The shorter, more rebellious layers pull everything forward. The shag cut works best for curly-haired girls, especially if they have the right styling tools and techniques!

Bronde

Bronde hair is one of the biggest up-and-coming trends of 2020. Like the name implies, bronde is the combination of blonde and brunette hues. The fusion of these two hair colors creates a warm, two-toned result. Blondes love the depth and dimension, and brunettes love the lift and lighten. It’s a win-win for both!

‘60s Flip

In the 1960s, women like Jackie Kennedy, Marlo Thomas, and Jane Fonda wore the iconic flip hairstyle. Nearly half a century later and the ‘60s flip is trendy again. Although women now focus less on the volume of their roots, they still put major emphasis on the ends of their hair. With the help of a straightener or a hair dryer and round brush, this hairstyle can be your new go-to.

Statement Hair Accessories

Celebrities have brought back hair accessories. Bobbi pins, headbands, bows, barrettes and clips are being sold at the majority of retail stores. And they’re not just for young girls. Grown women are rocking these as well. Pearls, rhinestones, and velvet hair accessories make a statement by adding a touch of femininity to any outfit!
