5 Clever Halloween Costumes For Pregnant Women

If you are lucky enough to be pregnant during Halloween then you can impress your friends and family with a creative and fun costume. Why not take advantage of the opportunity and have a little fun with your baby bump?

  1. Sunny Side Up

To make this cute fried egg costume, you will need a fitted yellow shirt that will be the "yolk" of the egg. To create the "white", you can use white cardboard or foam board cut into the shape of an egg with a circle cut out for your belly (yolk). Tape an elastic band around you to keep it in place or make little handles if you prefer to make it easier to remove.

  2. Basketball Player

To make this costume, throw on a set of sweatbands, some basketball shorts and shoes and a jersey of your favorite team. Wear a white tank top under your jersey. You will want to pin or tape your jersey up so that most of your belly shows. Paint your tank top to look like a basketball. It will look like you are holding the basketball ball (your belly).

  3. Pumpkin Farmer

This costume is similar to the basketball player except that your belly will be painted like a pumpkin. Throw on a pair of overalls with the center cut out to show your bump, boots, and a straw hat. You’ll the cutest pumpkin on Halloween!

  4. Humpty Dumpty

Paint a cardboard box to look like a brick wall and attach it to suspenders. Make sure the suspenders are long enough that the box sits below your baby bump. Wear a white tank top and paint Humpty Dumpty over your belly. Add some dangling legs made out of tube socks stapled to edge of the box and you have a nursery rhyme costume sure to get some laughs.

  5. Bun in the Oven

For this last costume idea, you will need a large cardboard box with the top and bottom cut out and a "window" cut out in the front. Draw a door, knobs, and display to look like an oven. Paint your tank top to look like a delicious little bun in the oven. For extra fun, have your partner dress up as a baker!

Halloween is a time for light-hearted fun and there is no reason you should miss out on dressing up just because you’re pregnant. Take advantage of this time to create a cool, clever costume that highlights your bump.
