Jeans are a tried and true fall favorite, but sometimes wearing them can become quite repetitive. If you don’t feel like wearing a skirt or dress to mix it up, there are still several other options out there besides denim.
Palazzo
Palazzo pants have been a popular summer trend this year with their bright colors and breathable material, but now retailers are gearing up for fall with deeper colors and thicker fabrics. There are some patterned palazzo pants that can easily be worn in both summer and fall, such as aztec print, chevron, and stripes. Pick a color in the pants that you want to accentuate and add a long-sleeve top in that same color.
If you have black and white pants, pick your favorite fall color, whether it’s pumpkin orange, royal blue, or any other hue, and wear a shirt in your chosen color. Complete your outfit with your favorite pointed-toe heels or flats and add a statement necklace. For an additional layer of warmth and style, throw on a faux fur vest over your shirt.
Harem
You may have never heard of harem (or scrunch) pants, but you’ve probably seen these chic pants before. They start loose at the top, then come to a close fit around your ankle. These are extremely comfortable and easy to style. Pair some navy blue harem pants with a striped, three-quarter sleeve shirt, and nude heels. You can add color with a deep red or mustard yellow scarf. Herringbone pants are a great patterned option because the pattern is very subtle and matches just about any color. Try on a pair with a taupe pocket tee, black leather jacket, and black ankle boots for a sleek look.
Leggings
There has been some disparity regarding the appropriateness of leggings, but when styled correctly, they can be classy and more comfortable than a pair of jeans. There are many different options on the market, including solid, patterned, and leather. Match a solid pair of black leggings with an oversized white shirt and layer on an unbuttoned army green button up. Polish off your outfit with a gold, aztec-themed necklace and brown boots.
For patterned leggings, wear a solid-colored tunic, leather riding boots, and a fringed scarf or statement necklace. Leather leggings are another very chic choice, and you can even make them office-appropriate. Style black leather leggings with a cream chiffon tank top and a solid black blazer. Top off your outfit with gold pumps and earrings.
