Harrelson has been vegan for over 30 years because of his love for animals and the environment. On Zombieland, he had to have specially made fake Twinkies made of cornmeal to eat on camera.
Sadie Sink
Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink is one of Woody Harrelson’s converts! She starred alongside him in The Glass Castle and after seeing how reasonable veganism was for him, she decided to turn her vegetarian diet into a vegan diet.
In a 2021 Glamour Magazine interview, she said about Harrelson, “He’s a very passionate vegan and his entire family is vegan as well, so by spending time with them, I was able to learn that a vegan lifestyle is totally doable and it’s not as hard as it may seem.”

Singer-songwriter Billie Eilish grew up vegetarian but made the swap to veganism at 12 years old. The abhorrent treatment of animals in the industrial food system is what motivated her change.
Eilish has used her platform to speak out about the treatment of animals and what people can do to help. She encourages fans to add more plant-based foods into their diet to do their part to help the environment.
Ariana Grande
Popstar Ariana Grande has been vegan since 2013 and promoting the lifestyle just as long. In a 2014 interview with Mirror, she explained her choice: “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding.”
Her support of animals is clear. In 2019, Grande co-founded a Los Angeles based animal rescue and rehabilitation center called Orange Twins Rescue. The singer’s also said that her plant-based diet helps her keep up her health and stamina for demanding tour schedules.
Stevie Wonder
Grammy award winner Stevie Wonder went vegan in 2013 for health and environmental reasons. Fighting against climate change is a motivating factor for him. He’s stated that he wants to make the world more sustainable for future generations.
In a 2015 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, Wonder did a “Carpool Karaoke” segment with Corden where he talked about his choice to not eat me. The two broke song, singing, “Go vegan, go vegan, you’ve got-got-got to go vegan.” Honestly, anything by Stevie Wonder is catchy.
Pamela Anderson
Ever wonder how 58-year-old Pamela Anderson still looks so great? Well, the answer might be in her diet. The actress has been vegan for over 30 years. She was PETA’s 2016 Person of the Year for her activism.
She’s done many campaigns encouraging people around the world to go vegan. I mean, obviously she’s doing something right. She even wrote a vegan cookbook titled I Love You: Recipes from the Heart.
Jennifer Coolidge
We all know Jennifer Coolidge’s famous line “Makes me want a hot dog real bad” from Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde. But we promise that the actress doesn’t actually want a hot dog. In fact, Coolidge turned down a commercial for a hot dog company because they didn’t offer plant-based options!
Coolidge has been a dedicated vegan for over 20 years. PETA crowned her their ‘Vegan Queen’ in 2023 because of her work for animal liberation.
Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy was vegetarian for 15 years before he decided to eat meat to accurately portray his character in Peaky Blinders in 2022. After the brief hiatus, though, he’s back and better than ever because this time, he’s gone vegan.
He revealed this change on a podcast with Mark Moran. Murphy said he had both health and environmental reasons for choosing a plant-based diet. “Just better for the planet,” he said. We can’t argue there.
Alicia Silverstone
Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone has been vegan since 1998. She’s done campaigns for PETA, becoming a well-known animal rights activist. She’s even raising her son vegan.
In a 2010 interview with Oprah, she said a documentary on the slaughter of animals made her cut out meat. “I just took a look at my dog and said, ‘If I’m not willing to eat you, how can I continue to eat these other creatures that have the same desire to live, are just as funny, just as cute as my dogs?'” she said.
