The day you’ve been waiting for is almost here. You’ve read the book, watched the trailer, and now the final countdown begins. On November 21, the first installment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay will be released in theaters across the world. If you have kept up with this action-packed series, you probably know there are countless reasons to be first in line at the ticket booth, but here’s a list of some of the most compelling ones to refresh your memory.
- JLaw (Katniss)
As if you need any more reason than this! Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest names in Hollywood; she’s gorgeous, funny, and extremely talented. She even has an Academy award under her belt, so you know she’ll make this movie worthwhile. - The Action
Mockingjay is undoubtedly the most action-packed book in the series, so all you adrenaline junkies will get your fix during this film. The great thing about this movie is that the action is not just contained to the arena; it’s everywhere and never-ending. - Prim
Katniss’ sweet little sister only appears in The Hunger Games and Catching Fire for a couple minutes, but in Mockingjay, we are able to learn more about her and her relentless drive to aid the revolution. - Josh Hutcherson (Peeta)
The boy with the bread has always been the good guy, doing whatever it takes to rescue Katniss, and Josh Hutcherson has blossomed in that role marvelously. In this film, though, you are able to see a completely different side of Hutcherson’s acting skills after Peeta is tortured by President Snow. - The Relatability
Finnick and Katniss are both struggling with their emotions over Annie and Peeta, respectively. Even though it is incredibly unlikely you would ever experience something of this magnitude, you can probably relate to their struggles. - District 13
The elusive District 13 that was only mentioned in the first two films is actually the main setting of Mockingjay. See for yourself whether the citizen’s speculations or the Capitol’s claims about it are true. - Katniss’ Choice
Katniss has struggled between wanting both Gale and Peeta for the last two films, and her decision is made even more difficult in this film. Gale is fighting alongside her, while Peeta is trapped at the Capitol. Who will she choose? - Other Winners
The other winners of the Hunger Games are just as intriguing as the main characters. You were introduced to each of them in Catching Fire, but now you get an in depth look into those who have survived up until this point. - The Conspiracies
After certain events transpire, Katniss becomes wary of those around her and doesn’t know who to trust. Who is on her side, and are the rebel leaders just as ruthless as the Capitol? - The Mockingjay
After years of being controlled by the Capitol, the citizens of Panem have banded together, and they finally have enough resources to put up a good fight. They are united by the Mockingjay and will keep you invested in their cause right to the very end.
