10 Types of People You'll Meet at Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is the biggest convention in the world, and this year it's going to be bigger than ever! Huge releases, amazing guests, and more will draw every type of person—and I mean every type. Here are 10 you’ll definitely see this year!

1. The Autograph Collector

1. The Autograph Collector

Comic-Con is a great place to meet famous people, and you want their autographs. But let’s be honest, some people are only there to get every autograph possible. It’s like Pokémon GO, they gotta catch ‘em all! So if you see someone aimlessly walking around asking for autographs, congratulations! You've spotted the not-so-rare Autograph Collector.

2. The Amazing Cosplayer

These people are spot on, and they spend hundreds of hours and untold amounts of money on their cosplays. Every single detail is accounted for, and you have to ask for pictures. From Wonder Woman to The Spartans, they will be there. You'll find them lurking in large, open spaces for optimum noticeability.

3. The Deadpool

3. The Deadpool

With the recent release of the film, you’ll probably see more Deadpools than ever! Their topic of conversation? Chimichangas and mostly unfunny jokes. But if you're lucky and keep an eye out, you may be able to see the infamous D-Piddy.

4. The Exhausted Celeb

4. The Exhausted Celeb

The San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is a giant convention that pulls big names—even Stan Lee is attending this year. Unfortunately, these celebs are probably exhausted. They’ll be sitting in their booths for hours on end, signing autographs, talking to fans, and flashing their pearly whites.

5. The Comic Collector

At SDCC, comics are what cause some people to elbow their way through huge crowds. They're looking for a steal or that one comic they’ve been searching for that will complete their ever-growing collection. If elbowed, let them pass; They're on a mission! And for my Comic Collectors out there, may the odds be ever in your favor.

6. The Bored Parent

Kids love Comic-Con with the passion of a thousand suns. They’re hyped up on energy and bouncing from panel to panel, but behind each of these kids are the parents that brought them to SDCC. They're completely and utterly bored out of their minds, but they’ll do whatever they can for their kids. So if you spot one of these, be kind.

7. The Bored Child

Sometimes the parent isn’t the one that got dragged along. Adults get excited about SDCC too, which means you could see bored kids going out of their minds while their parents run around like caffeine-fueled lunatics. If spotted, please try your best not to trample these poor children.

8. The Joker/Harley Quinn

With the soon-to-be-released Suicide Squad, you’ll see plenty of Harley Quinns and Jokers dressed as the comic book and film adaptations. Maybe you’ll get the chance to see the amazing Harley’s Joker—the man that puts all other jokers to shame. If spotted, don't let him go undocumented.

9. The Guy Dressed Like a Female Character

I’m not sure why guys find it so funny to dress up like iconic female characters, but they do. The most common case is a dude dressed as Slave Leia, but you can find anything from Catwoman to Sailor Moon. They’re always the hairiest of men, which makes us sad that we can’t bleach our eyes. When spotted, avoid at all costs!

10. The First-timer

10. The First-timer

By the time SDCC is over, the person that will stand out the most is the first-timer. This poor attendee has no idea what they’re in for (long lines, disgusting smells, and overpriced stuff). But at the end of the day, it’s impossible to regret your experience. They'll be the ones with the biggest grins on the most exhausted faces. Cherish these sightings as memories of your first Comic-Con.
