10 Ways Miley Cyrus is Making the World a Better Place

She's a well-known philanthropist.

Miley has shared much of her wealth with charities all over the world, including Make-a-Wish Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, To Write Love on Her Arms, NOH8 Campaign, Love Is Louder Than the Pressure to Be Perfect, and The Jed Foundation. She also started the Happy Hippie Foundation, which aims to help homeless and LGBTQ youth, in September 2014.

One of her many tattoos is an equal sign on her right ring finger, signifying her ongoing support of same sex rights. She has spoken out about many injustices in the way of equality and has rallied her fans together to raise awareness of such issues.

When she won Video of the Year at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards for “Wrecking Ball,” she brought Jesse, a homeless 22-year-old that Cyrus met at My Friend’s Place, on stage with her to accept the award. She then ran a campaign to raise money for the charity.

It's no secret that Miley adores animals, especially her pet dogs and cats. She often poses for pictures with them and posts them on her social media accounts. Miley has also donated to charities directly working with animal shelters. PETA named Cyrus the "Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2015."

She believes that worth is not tied to gender identity, and she speaks out for the equal rights of all people.
