Leonardo DiCaprio, 45
For years we’ve watched Hollywood hunk Leo date a long string of the hottest supermodels on the planet, so it should come as no surprise that this super-eligible bachelor has no plans in the future for marriage—but he hasn’t sworn it off completely. “That time will come when it comes,” he told Parade in 2016. “The truth is that you can’t predict marriage. You can’t plan it. It’s just going to happen when it happens.”
After her unprecedented half-time show at Super Bowl LIV in 2020, Shakira told 60 Minutes that despite the fact that she has been in a fulfilling relationship with soccer player Gerard Pique since 2011 and the couple have two children together, marriage just isn’t in their plans. “I’m more afraid of marriage than death,” she said.
Winona Ryder, 48
The Stranger Things mom has been in a relationship with Scott Hahn since 2011, but they currently have no plans to marry. The actress told Net-A-Porter in 2016, “I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times…When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high.”
Chris Evans, 38
Our Captain America is still one of the most eligible bachelors on the planet. Although he was in an on-and-off again relationship with ex-girlfriend Jenny Slate, Evans has not been linked with another mate since the couple split for a final time in 2018. “I’m the one who feels enveloped… If I’m with someone who just kind of adopts my life, that can feel a bit suffocating,” he told Hollywood Reporter in 2019.
Ricky Gervais, 58
Our favorite British comedian has been known to swear off marriage both on the comedy stage and in various interviews. Although he’s been with his long-time partner Jane Fallon for 32 years, the funny man does not plan to make it “official.” On the David Letterman Show in 2014, Ricky said of his relationship, “I don’t think there’s any point to us getting married. We don’t want anymore toasters, we never want our families to meet, that’d be terrible.”
Charlize Theron, 44
In October of 2019, the Oscar-winning actress told Glamour Magazine, “I haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time. I never wanted to get married.” However, just because she doesn’t wish to get married doesn’t mean she’s not interested in romance or love. She told Entertainment Tonight in an April 2019 interview that “Someone just needs to grow a pair and step up. I’m shockingly available.”
Keanu Reeves, 55
For the first time in 2019, Reeves was linked to his first relationship in years. He and Alexandra Grant made their first red carpet debut together at his John Wick: Chapter 3 grand opening. Reeves’s long-time friend and actress Jennifer Tilly told E! News in 2020 that the couple have been dating for several years. Because Keanu likes to keep his personal life rather private, we may never know how he actually feels about marriage.
Jon Hamm, 48
This Mad Man was in a relationship with Jennifer Westfeldt for more than 18 years before the couple split in 2015. Hamm has not been linked to any serious romantic interest since then, but even so, we don’t see this bachelor changing his ways anytime soon. In an interview with the New York Daily Times in 2010, Hamm said, “I don’t have the marriage chip.”
Chelsea Handler, 44
Although the comedian has spoken up against marriage for quite a while, in 2016 she had a change of heart. Now that I’m single and have no viable options.”
Jared Leto, 48
There is no Mrs. Harley Quinn in store for this Joker any time soon. However, the Dallas Buyer’s Club actor and 30 Seconds to Mars lead singer has not sworn off marriage just yet. “It’s just how things are. I don’t think it’s a definitive decision that I’ve made,” he told Rolling Stone Magazine in 2016.
Simon Cowell, 60
This America’s Got Talent judge never planned to have children, but is now the happy father of a 6-year-old son. So, it’s no surprise that the Brit is ambiguous about marriage, too. When asked if he will ever get married, Cowell told Dan Wooten’s Bizarre Column that he has no current plans but that that could change. “I think with anything in life just let things happen rather than plan. I’m saying that all the good things that have ever happened in my life I’ve never, ever planned.”
Lauren Graham, 52
Our favorite Gilmore girl has never been married but has been in an almost 10-year relationship with Parenthood co-star Peter Krause. When appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016, she told Ellen that she already felt married to Krause after five years and that their relationship is fine just the way it is.
Mindy Kaling, 40
Mindy is proving to society that there is no specific order in life to find happiness. She gave birth to her first child in 2018, and is a proud single mother—she hasn’t even told the media who the father of her child is. In 2015, Kaling told Good Housekeeping “I don’t need anyone to take care of my needs and desires. I can take care of them myself now.”
Bill Maher, 64
Comedian and talk show host Bill Maher has been very clear about marriage throughout his entire career. He doesn’t believe in the institution at all. As a matter of fact, in case we were confused, in an appearance on the Howard Stern Radio Show in 2019, Maher said, “I’ve tried to have relationships. I’ve been in love. I’ve known some amazing women. But I’ve never understood how you can just be with the same person, day after day, week after week, year after year. I just don’t get that.”
Norman Reedus, 51
Although rumors swirled about Norman being married to his then long-time girlfriend, Helena Christensen from 1998-2003, the pair were never married according to Christensen. Reedus has been in a relationship with fellow actress, Diane Kruger, since the two fell in love on the set of their 2015 film Sky, and they are now raising their one-year-old daughter together. Because Kruger does not believe in marriage any longer, the couple have no plans in the immediate future to tie the knot.
Oprah Winfrey, 66
Oprah Winfrey has been the cause of much marriage speculation since she began dating Stedman Graham in the 1980s. Although the two have been together since 1986, they have never tied the proverbial knot. In the January 2020 edition of O, The Oprah Magazine, she wrote an article explaining why the two have not married and why they probably will not get married in the future. “He and I agree that had we tied the marital knot, we would not still be together.”
Drew Carey, 61
The host of The Price is Right has never married, although it’s not from lack of trying. He has been engaged twice, once in 2007 and once again in 2018. However, for some reason the relationships didn’t quite make it to the altar. At the moment he is one highly eligible bachelor and there could still be a Mrs. Drew Carey in the future.
Al Pacino, 79
Although he’s been linked to several Hollywood relationships, including one with Diane Keaton, this Godfather and Scarface actor has never been married. Mary Louise Parker, 55
The Weeds and Angels in America actress has a son with fellow actor Billy Crudup and was engaged to Jeffrey Dean Morgan in 2008, she has never actually tied the knot. Crudup famously left Parker when she was seven months pregnant for younger actress Claire Danes in 2003 causing a Hollywood scandal. Ultimately, Mary Louise seems blasé about marriage in general. In a 2015 interview with The New York Times, Parker stated “Maybe a psychiatrist would say I’m not married now because I have some sort of father thing,” she said. “But you know what? That would be the least of my problems.”
Edie Falco, 56
Edie Falco is living life on her terms and her terms, only. The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie star gave an interview in 2010 to The Daily Beast in which she was asked if she was sad that she never married. When asked if she would get married if the right person came along, Falco answered, “It has to be the really right person at this point.”
Owen Wilson, 51
There are no interviews or words from Wilson, himself, to explain why the Wedding Crashers actor has never been married. He has, however, sired three children with three different mothers and has a very active if not sometimes scandalous dating past with actresses like Kate Hudson and Gina Gershon.
John Cusack, 53
According to Hollywood legend, the Say Anything and High Fidelity actor has never even popped the question to anyone in the past. Although he has dated Hollywood sirens such as Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Neve Campbell, Gina Gershon, and Uma Thurman, there has never been a time that society has been confused as to why this Hollywood heartthrob has never gotten hitched. In an interview with Elle Magazine in 2009 in which he was asked why he has never been married, the actor said “Society doesn’t tell me what to do.”
Tyra Banks, 46
The America’s Top Model and talk show host has never been married. As a matter of fact, her relationships haven’t even been cause for much media attention until lately. Banks has not been spotted with another beau since then until recently. It is rumored that Banks now lives with her current boyfriend, Louis Belanger-Martin, a Canadian businessman.

This Grammy winning rocker who’s been engaged three times is still open to marriage. She just happens to be single at the moment. In an interview with People Magazine in 2019 the singer said “I would love to get married. But I don’t think it’s the end-all, be-all.” Her last and most public break up happened in 2006 when Crow broke off her engagement to cyclist Lance Armstrong while she was battling breast cancer.
Seth MacFarlane, 46
This Family Guy and Ted creator is still living the single life, although in 2013 he did tell Parade that he is “wide-open to getting married.” MacFarlane is usually very private about his relationships regardless of the fact that he’s been linked to several high-profile starlets in Hollywood such as Eliza Dushku, Amanda Bynes, and Emilia Clark of Game of Thrones. In the same interview, he told Parade that dating actors is hard work. “You end up sharing that person with this other mistress that is their career.”
Allison Janney, 60
In 2016, Mom star Janney told an E! News reporter that she didn’t want a ring because she does not believe in the institution of marriage despite being previously engaged to Richard Jenik from 2004-2006. In a conversation with Women’s Health Magazine in 2005—the year she was to have married Jenik— the West Wing and Finding Nemo actress said “I used to have a recurring dream that I would marry a man and, right after the ceremony, they’d turn into somebody completely different… So, you could say I’ve had some fears about it.”
Benecio Del Toro, 53
According to journalistate.com, when asked if he planned on ever getting married, the critically acclaimed Sicario actor replied “Why? Just so I can get divorced?” It has been rumored that Hollywood bad-boy Del Toro is married to the mother of his daughter, Kimberly Stewart (daughter of singer Rod Stewart); however, the couple have never been married although they have been sharing the parenting responsibilities right down the middle since Delilah was born in 2011.
Marisa Tomei, 55
Although her Academy award-winning character Lisa in My Cousin Vinny was having a biological clock issue back in the 90s, Marisa Tomei is still living the single life into the roaring 20s and doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. In an interview with Inquisitr Magazine in 2009, Tomei said “I’m not that big a fan of marriage as an institution, and I don’t know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings.”
Kristin Davis, 55
Despite the fact that she played a marriage-aholic as Charlotte in Sex and the City, Kristin Davis could not be more different in real life. The single mother of two adopted children just doesn’t seem to have the time or effort to even contemplate marriage at the moment. In an interview with Haute Living in 2014, shortly after adopting her first child Gemma, the Couples Retreat star said “I certainly intellectually feel like I’d like to have another romantic relationship, but I don’t know how to make the day-to-day of it happen. I don’t have time!”
Diane Keaton, 74
According to CNN.com, the critically acclaimed actress hasn’t even had a date in 35 years as of July 2019 despite being in relationships Woody Allen, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino in the past. Keaton recently opened up about marriage and love in an interview with France24.com in 2019. When she was asked if she regrets never marrying her response was “I don’t think about it a lot but I’m aware of the fact that I’m unusual in that regard, and maybe I did miss out on something—but then, nobody can have everything, right? I’m not unhappy.”
