"Firefly"
"Firefly" was the ultimate space-western mashup that left fans heartbroken when it was canceled after just one season. With its quirky crew of misfits and thrilling adventures, it had all the makings of a cult classic.
A Netflix reboot could give "Firefly" the justice it deserves with a bigger budget and modern special effects. It could dive deeper into the untold stories of Captain Mal and his crew, exploring new planets and facing off against even more dangerous foes.
"Stargate: Atlantis"
"Stargate: Atlantis" took us on an unforgettable journey to a lost city in a distant galaxy, filled with ancient tech, alien threats, and plenty of snarky humor. The show’s mix of action, mystery, and camaraderie made it a fan favorite.
A reboot could explore even more of the Pegasus Galaxy, uncovering hidden secrets of the Ancients and introducing new alien species. A fresh cast could bring new energy while still honoring the original team’s legacy.
"Seinfeld"
"Seinfeld" was the show about nothing that somehow became everything. A reboot could bring Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer into the modern world, tackling today’s absurdities like social media, dating apps, and influencer culture.
Imagine George trying to go viral or Kramer inventing the next big TikTok trend—comedy gold! It’s the perfect way to reintroduce these characters to a new generation while keeping longtime fans laughing.
"Scrubs"
"Scrubs" was the perfect mix of laugh-out-loud comedy and heartfelt moments, following the lives of young doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital. With its quirky humor and lovable characters, it gave us a fresh take on medical dramas.
A reboot could bring back the charm while exploring the challenges of modern medicine, like telehealth, social media diagnoses, and cutting-edge tech. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see J.D. and Turk’s bromance live on?
"Heroes"
"Heroes" had us all believing that ordinary people could have extraordinary powers. A reboot could dive deeper into the origins of these abilities and explore how superpowers would shake up today’s world.
New characters with unique powers could join the mix, while fan favorites like Hiro or Claire could make epic cameos. Add in some jaw-dropping effects and a darker, more modern tone, and you’ve got a superpowered hit ready to save the day!
"Gilmore Girls"
"Gilmore Girls" charmed us with its quick-witted banter, small-town charm, and the unshakable bond between Lorelai and Rory. A reboot could pick up with a new generation in Stars Hollow, with Rory navigating life as a mom while Lorelai hilariously meddles.
The town meetings would be as chaotic as ever, and Luke’s Diner would still be the heart of it all. It’s the perfect way to revisit Stars Hollow and remind us why we fell in love with it in the first place!
"The Love Boat"
"The Love Boat" was the ultimate feel-good escape, and don’t we all need that again? We need to bring the Pacific Princess into the modern era, with new passengers, fresh love stories, and plenty of hilarious mishaps.
The new crew could be dealing with dating app disasters, influencer passengers, or even a surprise wedding at sea—there’s no shortage of fun to be had!
"I Dream of Jeannie"
"I Dream of Jeannie" was the magical sitcom that had us wishing for our own genie in a bottle. With Jeannie’s mischievous antics and Major Nelson’s attempts to keep her powers under wraps, it was pure comedic gold.
In today’s world, Jeannie’s powers could lead to even bigger, more magical mishaps, and new characters could add to the chaos. Plus, the show could explore how Jeannie navigates modern independence while still being her lovable, bubbly self.
"The Muppets"
From Kermit’s leadership struggles to Miss Piggy’s diva moments, “The Muppets” was a show that delighted kids and adults alike. The world needs those endless laughs, catchy songs, and lovable cast of felt-covered chaos-makers back.
With Netflix’s knack for family-friendly fun, a "Muppets" reboot could mix nostalgia with fresh, hilarious adventures. The show could feature celebrity guest stars, new Muppet characters, and plenty of behind-the-scenes shenanigans.
"Happy Days"
"Happy Days" was the ultimate feel-good sitcom, taking us back to the 1950s with jukeboxes, leather jackets, and plenty of laughs. Richie, Fonzie, and the rest of the gang, it captured the heart of a generation.
Wouldn’t you like to see those guys back again? Maybe navigating children and grandchildren, blending nostalgia with fresh storylines and introducing a new generation of characters while keeping the diner, the laughs, and the heart of the original.
"The Twilight Zone"
The Twilight Zone is a cult classic! Even those who have never watched the show know the premise: ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary situations.
With better graphics and CGI, we would love to see what wild prediciments the characters could find themselves in in this day and age!
"Gilligan's Island"
Gilligan’s Island was beloved because it demonstrated how the most random group of people came together to survive after being stranded on an island.
We would love to see a modern adaptation of this classic, where people have to learn to survive without the use of their smartphones and FitBits.
"That Girl"
That Girl was one of the first shows to depict a career-driven girl struggling to make it as an actress in New York City.
In today’s time, we would love to see the same theme, but reimagined as a girl trying to make it as a developer in Silicon Valley or as a business owner.
"Freaks and Geeks"
Freaks and Geeks was about high school students, but it was not your quintessential “high school show.” It was witty, quirky, and completely relatable.
We're dying to see a reboot with new characters for Generation Z to watch and develop another cult-like following.
"The Outer Limits"
This show was a series of science fiction stories, meant to both educate and inspire.
It had a different cast each episode, and seeing the success of this style with Black Mirror, we would be highly interested to live new science fiction stories with a fresh cast each week. Our new technologies could bring this show to whole new level!
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a happy ending, but there were still quite a few loose ends that didn’t manage to get tied up over the course of 144 episodes.
We would love to see Buffy and the gang’s future plans come to fruition and watch them slay some new monsters!
"Will and Grace"
What we all loved about Will & Grace was that it was accurate about most friendships where the people are kind of selfish and imperfect but still care deeply about one another.
This reboot, with the characters being older and wiser, would have to feature the same cast.
"Wonder Woman"
Wonder Woman has kind of always been the overlooked superhero. They attempted to reboot this series, but it never worked because they took it too seriously.
With the recent success of Deadpool, why don’t we redo "Wonder Woman" as a chaotic good heroine instead?
"MASH"
"MASH" told the story of a group of soldiers, dissenters, and patriots set in the middle of the Korean War.
This show’s satirical take on some of the worst atrocities of war might be exactly what we need right now.
"Roseanne"
"Roseanne" was special in the way that it depicted working, middle class families with dignity and respect. The characters were not conventionally likeable, but their chemistry and heart made them universally adored.
We would love to see another take on today’s middle class family that could bring us all together once again.
"One Tree Hill"
"One Tree Hill" was the classic high school drama of its time. Even though it was sometimes over-the-top, it focused on the bonds between friends.
You could even reboot this show with the original cast members all grown up and experiencing those same relationships as adults.
"The West Wing"
With the current political climate, we think everyone would love to see a reboot of "The West Wing."
This drama was smart and unapologetic when it came to American politics, which is something we could all use right now.
"Thirtysomething"
"Thirtysomething" garnered a lot of hate while it was on air. People thought it was whiny and self-indulgent.
Yet, the theme of young adults navigating careers and parenthood would ring true with a whole new generation of millennials who are approaching those life events and would appreciate a show about it.
"The A-Team"
The original A-Team TV show was all about justice, honor, and the American way.
The recent movie couldn’t even compare to the classic television show, so we feel that a television reboot is necessary to redeem the series and breathe new life into this action-packed adventure.
"Golden Girls"
Sadly, it would be impossible to do a reboot with the original actresses, as all but one have passed away. Yet, this show that perfectly captured the inexplicable, inseparable bond between four older women who lived together in Florida deserves another look.
Their origin stories, perhaps? That's definitely something that would get us all watching. How did the girls get so sassy?
