Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Was there ever any doubt that Kim and Kanye were going to make the list? Let's not kid ourselves.
As individuals, Kim and Kanye are vain, attention seeking, and obscenely loaded (just because they're annoying doesn't mean we're not jealous). But when you combine them, they turn into a power couple that's...vain, attention seeking, and obscenely loaded.
Kylie Jenner & Tyga
Lest you worry, be assured that there are plenty of Kardashians/Jenners populating this list. But the worst of the bunch has to be Kylie Jenner and her tumultuous relationship with rapper Tyga.
The two allegedly began dating before the reality show star had turned 18, so things were already off to a great start for the two. When you add in the literal years of on-again-off-again drama, it's no wonder fans were glad to see them finally(?) part ways for good.
Jay-Z & Beyonce
Before you show up at my house with torches and pitchforks, let me explain. It's not that Jay-Z and Beyonce are an annoying couple--it's that Jay-Z and Beyonce are annoying people.
There are plenty of good rap and pop artists out there, but we're supposed to believe that these two aging superstars are the pinnacles of the genre? And then we're supposed to liberally dole out some yas queen's for the couple as they very publicly live a lavish life thanks to their hordes of unthinking fans? Count me out.
Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt
The only good thing about Heidi and Spencer's relationship is that these two terrible people have found one another and therefore can't hurt anyone else with their interpersonal insanity.
They got their start (and the start of their relationship) on MTV's definitely-not-fake reality show The Hills where they quickly became some of the most hated characters of all time. While they've tried to keep the reality show gravy train going in the ensuing years, they've only managed to make people hate them more.
Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra
What happens when a former boy band member marries an accomplished Indian actress? Sparks and rumors fly? Well, in the case of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, no, not really.
This Hollywood duo isn't annoying for any crazy antics they get into. Rather, they're annoying for the opposite reason--they're just so boring. If you can't promise me at least one public meltdown a month, get out of the limelight and make room for someone who can deliver the messy Hollywood relationships we so clearly crave.
Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes
Before Hollywood was overrun by reality show weirdos and their bizarre relationships, it was overrun with acting weirdos and their bizarre relationships.
While I'm glad that Katie Holmes managed to escape Tom Cruise's Scientology craziness, every time I saw the two make baby doll eyes at each other, I was ready to call in Xenu to shut it all down.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend like to pretend they're normal people, which paradoxically, just makes them more annoying.
If they were just your normal friends and neighbors, most of the things they post on social media about each other would be funny and endearing. But the fact is, they're not--and what they're doing is making calculated personal branding decisions to increase their status and wealth. But don't forget, they're just like us!
Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton
Even if Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's relationship hadn't screwed over Miranda Lambert, they'd still be one of the most annoying couples of all time.
The two are alledgely both full-grown adults, but you wouldn't be able to tell it from the non-stop sappy mush that the couple consistently vomits up onto social media and celebrity websites. Save the absurd PDA for the middle schoolers, you two.
Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have definitely had an on-again-off-again relationship, which can be annoying for fans trying to vicariously live through their love. But it turns out these two annoy more than those who follow them.
According to an interview, the two love to sing show tunes--and this apparently annoys their neighbors.
Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds
If you're looking for hot Hollywood drama, you're going to be disappointed with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. They're an annoying couple precisely because how seemingly picture-perfect their relationship is.
I'm sure they have their arguments like any couple, but the two are smart enough to leave the public out of it. Which is great for them, but not so great for a public who thrives on drama.
Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's relationship ended strangely and tragically after Odom struggled for his life after a drug overdose. But in the Khloe and Lamar heyday of the 2010s, they were one of the most annoying couples out there.
Even by Kardashian standards, Khloe is considered a bit much. And that was just made worse by the couple's spin-off reality show where fans could see every inane detail of the couples life.
Jenelle Evans & David Eason
Former Teen Mom "star" and human personification of Kentucky, Jenelle Evans, has picked some pretty terrible boyfriends in the past. But her most recent relationship with David Eason takes the cake.
The two are prone to typical reality show couple drama, which is only intensified by Evans' hair-trigger temper. And that's on top of all the dog shooting and child custody drama that's currently still surrounding them. Needless to say, the American public has had their fill.
Justin & Hailey Bieber
Is it even possible to have a relationship with Justin Bieber that isn't inherently annoying? That's definitely not the case in his current relationship with wife, Hailey.
The two do not skimp on the PDA or obnoxious social media posts and even seem to be aware about how annoying their love is--which only makes it that more annoying!
Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton
Before the messy, drama-filled relationships of today's stars, there was Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Their affair was a trainwreck that you hated but couldn't look away from.
The two's relationship was a non-stop torrent of drinking, fighting, and all sorts of drama. It's fun at first, but at a certain point, watching two celebrities self-destruct so spectarcularly loses its charm.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
At first, people were annoyed with Brangelina because it seemed like Jolie had ruined the relationship between Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. But we quickly learned that these two could be obnoxious all on their own.
Most of Hollywood’s power couples are slightly annoying at the very least, but these two took it to a whole new level. And even after their split, their very public child custody battle kept their annoying and toxic relationship going.
Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt
When taken separately, there’s nothing particularly heinous about Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston. But when these two Hollywood superstars got together, the results were...obnoxious.
While in the public eye, the two seemed like a picture-perfect couple, which is exactly why people hated them. Who wants constant updates about a couple that is richer, prettier, and more famous than you?
Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher
On the one hand, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are a bit of a cute couple. They’ve been together for five years now, which by Hollywood standards is basically a lifetime--and who doesn’t love a old married couple?
What makes this couple annoying is that we can’t get the image of Jackie and Kelso from That 70s Show out of our heads when we see the two together. Hollywood needs a rule that if you play a couple onscreen, you’re not allowed to date in real life.
Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee
Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee were annoying couple in the sense that you feel like you need an STD test after just saying their names. And those things can be expensive.
Even if we completely ignore “the tape”, these two were still a hot mess, even by Hollywood standards. They made their very messy relationship very public, and thank God it’s now just a distant memory.
Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman
Tom Cruise shows up on this list more than once, which should maybe tell you something about what makes his relationships annoying. If anything, Nicole Kidman was the only one keeping from going full-blown nuclear obnoxious.
Thankfully, the two didn’t last long after Cruise’s Scientology beliefs started to drive a wedge in their relationship. It wouldn’t be the last time time that Xenu was “the other woman.”
Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth
At the very least, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were an odd couple. Who really expected wild and crazy Miley to yoke up with such a clean cut superstar?
But the novelty of the relationship really began to wear off after it became clear that this was an on-again-off-again couple to the nth degree. So was anyone really surprised (or concerned) when their marriage lasted less than a year?
John Lennon & Yoko Ono
Whether you’re team Beatles or team Yoko, this classic famous relationship was nothing but annoying.
John Lennon was already prone to being annoying on his own, but when you throw a performance artist love interest into the mix, the two become even more insufferable.
Snooki & Jionni LaValle
Jersey Shore’s Snooki and her husband Jionni LaValle are actually a perfect couple. They’re both so obnoxious that they deserve each other.
We’re not saying that watching this trainwreck of a relationship unfold hasn’t been fun, but at this point the shtick is old. We get it--you’re both loud and emotionally volatile. If you want to keep our attention, you’re going to have to throw some other personality flaw into the mix.
Ariana Grande & Pete Davidson
Poor Pete Davidson clearly wasn’t cut out for a life in the limelight, and watching him slowly deteriorate as he dated Ariana Grande was tough. But it was also annoying, because unlike some problems, he had the ability to stop them. No one but Pete himself is forcing him to date famous women or be on TV.
There was definitely a feeling of novelty when the unlikely duo got together, but it quickly became clear that no one--Pete, Ariana, or the people watching this trainwreck--were enjoying the relationship.
Katy Perry & Russell Brand
I have to hand it to Russell Brand--I pegged him as someone who (wrongfully) thought they were better than dating a pop star. So good on him for keeping an open mind. But bad on him (and Katy Perry) for literally everything else about this relationship
If the posh couple’s jet-setting lifestyle wasn’t enough to annoy you, just take a look at some of their more outrageous public displays of affection. You might want to have a barf bag nearby.
Taylor Swift & Harry Styles
Let’s be honest--all of Taylor Swift’s relationships are annoying. Not because she’s bad at picking men, but because she’s inevitably going to write a breakup song about them.
But probably the most outrageous and annoying relationship she’s had is with Harry Styles. At the time, the two were some of the biggest musicians on the planet, so please forgive me for being cynical and seeing straight through this obvious cross-promotional ploy.
Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman
Carmen Electra was never a paragon of reason or prudence, but when she started a relationship with Dennis Rodman, it was still bizarre enough to make people ask, “Girl, what in the world are you doing???”
That being said, Electra later admitted that she started the relationship at a very low point in her life, so we can’t be too hard on her...but we will be a little hard on her because dating Dennis Rodman is like the most glaringly bad decision a person could make.
Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck
Even if Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had had a storybook romance, we would still be annoyed with them because they gave us the term “Bennifer” and the trend of dumb celebrity couple names.
But they really shocked (and annoyed) the world when they cancelled their wedding just days before the event.
Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon really ruined his marriage (and angered fans) when it came to light that he had cheated on Mariah Carey, but this was far from the only annoying thing about this relationship.
Both members of this troubled duo didn’t seem to have any problem airing their relationship problems in a very public way. And unless you’re just a glutton for juicy celebrity drama, then that act got old fast.
Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey
The most annoying thing about Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey’s early-2000s romance was that it felt so fake. You’re telling me two huge pop stars genuinely found love without any sort of contractual obligation? Sounds fishy to me.
And while the reality show about their marriage did give us Jessica’s iconic “Chicken of the Sea” moment, beyond that, all it gave us was a glimpse into their dysfunctional, failing relationship.
