Salma married French fashion designer Francois-Henri Pinault in 2009 and the two have lived their Parisian fantasy ever since!

In an interview with Hollywood Foreign Press, Justin recalled how Jessica played hard to get when asked on a date saying, "I had to be pretty persistent in order to get her to say yes.”

In 2007 the couple made their relationship public news, but shortly after in 2011 they broke it off. That didn’t last long however, because in the same year they reignited their relationship and got engaged the same year! Since, the two welcomed a beautiful son named Silas Randall and have been inseparable.

In an interview with the NY Post Ellen said “Shonda really wanted to put a black man in the mix. I didn’t think they were really going to put an interracial couple on the show, and I didn’t want him. It was too close to home.”

The pioneers. If interracial marriage was ever controversial, it was never more controversial than when abolitionist Frederick Douglas married fellow abolitionist Helen Pitts. In 1882, it was definitely frowned upon to mix the races at all.

Despite the fact that Helen had been raised by an entire family of abolitionists, her father still disowned her and cut her out of his will for marrying a black man. They remained married until Douglas’s death in 1895.

In an interview with Variety in 2015, he said, “And all the attention was over the fact that we were two men, but people were hardly conscious of the fact that we were entering into an interracial marriage. That’s wonderful because it was only 50 years ago with Loving v. Virginia that interracial marriages were made legal."

The couple had been together for 21 years before their controversial marriage was even celebrated in 2008, and they've been blissfully happy ever since.
