22 Actors Who'd Be Magical in a 'Harry Potter' Reboot

David Mazouz - Harry Potter

David Mazouz - Harry Potter

David is best known for playing a young Bruce Wayne on the hit TV show Gotham, but I think he’d be a perfect fit for The Boy Who Lived. He has dark hair, green eyes, and he’s more than talented enough to take on the lead role.

Benjamin Stockham - Neville Longbottom

Benjamin Stockham - Neville Longbottom

Benjamin has been in everything from About a Boy to Quarantine, and he can play a wide range of characters, so I’d love to see him as Neville. We won’t see him “Longbottoming” though, because he’s already pretty cute!

Miles Brown - Dean Thomas

Miles Brown - Dean Thomas

Adorable little Miles has starred in in shows like Black-ish and Battlefield America, and his cheery attitude and winning smile would be perfect for the role of the optimistic, football-loving Dean.

Isabella Crovetti-Cramp - Ginny Weasley

Isabella Crovetti-Cramp - Ginny Weasley

Isabella played the younger version of Jennifer Lawrence’s character in Joy, and she got a lot attention from fans and critics alike for her astounding acting chops. She's a natural blonde, so she’d have to wear a wig or dye her hair red, but other than that, she’s made for this role!

Carter Hastings - Ron Weasley

Carter Hastings - Ron Weasley

This little freckle-faced ginger has landed roles in several famous movies, including Inside Out, Penguins of Madagascar, and Hotel Transylvania II. Carter was included in IMDb’s list of the top 20 up and coming child actors of 2015, so Ron would be a great role for him!

Corey Fogelmanis - Tom Riddle

Corey Fogelmanis - Tom Riddle

Tom turned into the most evil wizard of all time, but when he was a kid, he was pretty adorable. Corey is perfectly charming, but he also has the ability to play a character that’s just a little bit psychopathic.

Will Spencer - Draco Malfoy

Will Spencer - Draco Malfoy

You need a handsome, blond kid to play the snobby Draco, and Will is the right kid for the job. He had a role in Ghost Squad and did an amazing job, so I want to see what else he can do!

Jojo Kushner - Hermione Granger

Jojo Kushner - Hermione Granger

Jojo stole everyone’s hearts in The Intern  with acting skills that are well beyond her years, so I would love to see her follow in Emma Watson’s footsteps. Jojo's unruly hair and adorable smile would make Potterheads fall in love with her instantly.

Jacob Tremblay - Seamus Finnigan

Jacob Tremblay - Seamus Finnigan

Jacob is well on his way to becoming a household name, so I think he’d do a great job as Seamus. Seamus is an underrated character, so it would be nice for him to finally get the attention he deserves!

Octavius Johnson - Lee Jordan

Octavius Johnson - Lee Jordan

Lee is one of the wittiest characters in the Harry Potter  series, and I think this character would be a nice change for Octavius, who is used to playing more serious roles. I suspect he could easily take on this more light-hearted one!

Bailee Madison - Pansy Parkinson

Bailee Madison - Pansy Parkinson

Bailee is one of the most talented child actresses I’ve ever seen. She’s been in Once Upon a Time and Just Go With It, and she blew me away. Pansy would undoubtedly have a bigger role in the movies if Bailee was playing her!

Simon Baker - Gilderoy Lockhart

Simon Baker - Gilderoy Lockhart

Simon is already a well-known actor, and he has the perfect conceited attitude and luscious blonde locks to be Gilderoy. Plus, he’s Australian, so his accent is already pretty close!

Chloe Moretz - Fleur Delacour

Chloe Moretz - Fleur Delacour

Fleur is the epitome of delicate beauty and compassion, and Chloe would reflect those ideals wonderfully. She already has a large fan base, so people would flock to see her in The Goblet of Fire.

Helen Mirren - Professor McGonagall

Helen Mirren - Professor McGonagall

It’s hard to picture anyone but Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall, but if I had to choose someone, it would have to be Helen. She’s classy, sassy, and would look great in emerald robes and a witch hat!

Ian McKellen - Professor Dumbledore

Ian McKellen - Professor Dumbledore

Ian nearly nabbed the role of Dumbledore in the original Harry Potter  movies, so I’d like to give him another shot. He’s proven time and again that he can play an intelligent, gentle role model like the Dumbledore from the books.

Matt Bomer - Sirius Black

Matt Bomer - Sirius Black

Sirius is supposed to be a heartthrob, so there’s no one better for this role than Matt, who is flawless. He's also charming and talented, so I would love to see him as James Potter’s best friend (with long hair of course).

Maria Thayer - Lily Potter

Maria Thayer - Lily Potter

Lily was known for her red hair and green eyes, so I think Maria would be the perfect actress to bring her beauty to life. She has blue eyes, so she’d have to wear colored contacts, but other than that, she is just how I imagined Lily in my head!

Paul Bettany - Remus Lupin

Paul Bettany - Remus Lupin

Paul is known for many of his roles, but one of my personal favorites is Geoffrey Chaucer in A Knight’s Tale. He can play any role, from serious to hilarious, so he could bring some new life to Lupin.

Adam Driver - Severus Snape

Adam Driver - Severus Snape

Alan Rickman was the perfect Snape, so the best way to pay tribute to him would be to cast Adam as the next Snape. He’s already proved in Star Wars: The Force Awakens  that he can pull off complicated, dark characters, so Snape would be a great fit.

Ewan McGregor - James Potter

Ewan McGregor - James Potter

Ewan would make a great James. He looks the part, knows how to pull of a serious character, and he’s Scottish, so he wouldn’t have to change his accent that much.

Bradley Cooper - Voldemort

Bradley Cooper - Voldemort

Bradley Cooper has proven time and again that he has the range to pull off just about any character Hollywood can throw at him. His personal style would bring a little change to old Voldy, but because he looks pretty similar to Ralph Fiennes, it wouldn’t be that drastic and jarring.

John Rhys-Davies - Hagrid

John Rhys-Davies - Hagrid

John Rhys-Davies is best known for his portrayal of Gimli in Lord of the Rings, and his gruff-yet-loving nature would be perfect for the role of Hagrid. Not to mention, he’s from Wales, so his performance would be all the more authentic!
