Dan Crenshaw & Calvin Graham

Dan Crenshaw

Dan Crenshaw is a politician and former U.S. Navy SEAL officer serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 2nd Congressional District since 2019. While at Tufts University, he joined the Reserve Officers Training Corps and was commissioned in the U.S. Navy after his graduation. He served in the Navy SEALs for ten years, including three tours of duty, reaching the rank of lieutenant commander.

While serving in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan in 2012, he was injured by the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED). He lost his right eye and required surgery to save the vision in his left eye. After the injury, he was deployed to Bahrain and South Korea. As a Navy SEAL, he earned two Bronze Star Medals, the Purple Heart, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Valor. He medically retired from military service in 2016.

Calvin Graham

Calvin Graham was the youngest U.S. servicemen to serve and fight during World War II. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy from Houston, TX on August 15, 1942, at the age of 12. On the night of November 14-15, 1942, Graham was wounded during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. He served as a loader for a 40 mm anti-aircraft gun and was hit by shrapnel while taking a hand message to an officer. Though he received fragmentation wounds, he helped in rescue duty by aiding and pulling the wounded aboard ship to safety.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal for his actions. Graham's mother made the mistake of revealing his age after he attended his grandmother's funeral without permission from the Navy. Because of this, he spent three months in a brig in Texas, and he was not released until after his sister threatened to contact the newspapers.

Although he tried to return to his ship, he was discharged from the Navy on April 1, 1943, and his awards were subsequently revoked. Graham's decorations and military honors were finally settled in 1994 after intervention by Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Gram was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Combat Valor, Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and two Silver Stars.

  • While attending the Grammys in February 2000, Jennifer Lopez stepped out in a green Versace dress that instantly became a phenomenon. The barely-there ensemble had a dramatically low cut that came below JLo’s belly button. It became such a talking point that it was Google’s most popular search query up to that point, and it spurred the company to include images into search results. It became the motivation for Google Images.
  • Paris Hilton not only lives in a mansion, she also built a doghouse mansion for her Chihuahua. It's 300 square feet and includes air conditioning and heating. It comes decked out with designer furniture, a chandelier, a pink paint job, second-floor balcony, and enclosed "yard." It's not enough for you to live in luxury. Your dog must, as well.
  • After her role as First Lady came to an end, Jackie Kennedy went into the publishing business. She became an associate editor at Doubleday and worked mostly on autobiographies. In fact, she was one of two original editors for Michael Jackson's 2009 autobiography Moonwalk, a #1 New York Times bestseller.
  • Jennifer Aniston's star-defining role on friends started a hair craze in the 90s that even lasted into the early 2000s. Called "The Rachel," Aniston's shoulder-length haircut had grown-out bangs and highlights styled to perfection. A hairdresser in Detroit noted that at the peak of its popularity, 40% of her business was devoted to recreating "The Rachel." Too bad that it was notoriously difficult to maintain on your own at home.
  • When Rihanna debuted her famous red locks in 2010 (around the same time she was featured on Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie"), she started a red-hair trend. Over the next twelve months, she changed her hairstyle 13 times—more than once a month! But that came at a pricey cost. Sources say the annual price tag came out to $1,168,000 on just her hair.
