5 Reasons to Love the Undertaker

One of Wrestling’s greatest entertainers ever, Mark William Calaway, “The Undertaker,” will celebrate his 50th birthday soon (March 24th). True wrestling fans don’t need to be reminded why they should celebrate their luck—the luck to have seen and to continue seeing this performer in action. But we’ll remind them anyway. Here are 5 things that prove the Undertaker is worth admiring.

  1. Aside from his most famous persona, The Undertaker has actually had numerous equally badass ringnames in the past: Mark Callous, Punisher Dice Morgan, Texas Red, The American Badass, The Commando, The Master of Pain, The Phenom, and The Punisher. Talk about an intimidating list of known aliases.
  2. He’s about to be 50 and he could still kick your ass. Or anyone’s.
  3. The man holds the “greatest winning streak in sport,” as some call it. At WrestleMania, from the years 1991-2014, The Undertaker went undefeated. That’s right. For 23 years, the man didn’t lose. He missed two annual events, but over those 23 years he won all 21 of the fights he was present for. Take that, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
  4. He’s married to Michelle McCool (Michelle Leigh Calaway), a former WWE Diva and WWE Women’s champion. If you were wondering, she’s also drop-dead gorgeous.
  5. No one has left the game and returned in epic fashion more than The Undertaker. The man was buried alive, people. And yes, he returned. Watch the following video of a WWE Top 10 dedicated to The Undertaker’s many badass returns:

Happy Birthday, Dead Man! We wish you many more returns.
