Artists Who Dissed Diddy in Lyrics

Once-famous but now-infamous rapper and producer Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has officially fallen from grace. In September 2024, he was arrested and charged with several serious crimes, including trafficking, racketeering, and physical abuse. As victims continue to come forward, it seems unlikely that he'll ever be able to recover his public image.

But some artists have been trying to warn us all along.

Over the years, several artists have called Diddy out in their lyrics, addressing everything from his shady business practices to implications of the horrendous crimes he’s currently accused of. Diddy, who went by “Puff Daddy” in his early years, has been the target of some sharp disses. Now we know that a lot of these artists are on the right side of history with their lyrics.

In 1996, Tupac released his famous diss track “Hit ‘Em Up,” which attacked Diddy’s record label Bad Boy Entertainment. In the song, Tupac goes after Diddy, fellow rapper the Notorious B.I.G., and other staff.

Many versions have been released that switch up the lyrics, but the original has Tupac saying, “So you and Puffy are tough? Now that’s crazy.”  The song goes on to call him weak and insult him and his company. The music video even included someone doing a satirical impression of Diddy.

50 Cent and Diddy have a long-standing feud. It began in 2006, when 50 Cent released his Diddy diss track “The Bomb.” The first direct attack is the line “Man, Puffy know who hit that [redacted],” saying that Diddy knows who killed the Notorious B.I.G, who was signed to Diddy’s record label, in 1997.

He then goes on to say, “Oh I guess this means I won’t be invited to the white parties,” which were famous Hollywood parties thrown by Diddy. A-list stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Beyonce attended every year, and all guests had to wear white.

One of the hardest hits in the song is the line, “Why you want to make me tell everybody what Misa told me (huh?),” referring to Misa Hylton who was Diddy’s girlfriend in the 90s. 50 Cent claims Diddy was abusive towards her.

In his 2024 song “Fuel,” rapper Eminem subtly dissed Diddy with the verse “I’m like a R-A-P-E-R. Got so many S-As (S-As), S-As (Huh). Wait, he didn’t just spell the word ‘rapper’ and leave out a P, did he?”

The ending of the verse sounds like “P. Diddy” when said out loud and references the crimes he is accused of. So, Eminem is saying that he knows Diddy to be guilty. He also accused Diddy of ordering the hit that killed Tupac in this song as well as his 2018 song “Killshot.”

In her 2010 song “Tik Tok,” Kesha sang “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy.” However, during her 2024 Coachella performance, she changed the lyrics to “Wake up in the morning feeling like [redacted] P. Diddy.”

Kesha has been an emphatic voice for victims, which is likely why she changed the lyrics. In 2023, she settled a long-time legal battle with her former producer Dr. Duke who she accused of assault like Diddy’s accusations.

In early 2024, a sound clip began circulating on social media with the lyrics “Lost myself at a Diddy party, didn’t know that’s how it go. I was in it for a new Ferrari, but it cost me way more than my soul, it wasn’t worth all the fortune and fame.”

Supposedly, it was an unreleased Justin Bieber song referencing his rise to fame as a child in the music scene with Diddy, but there is no concrete evidence that this is a real song. Many believe it to be AI-generated.
