Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis, beloved actress and scream queen, has taken every chance she gets to sing Kamala Harris's praises since ol' Joe dropped out and Harris stepped up. She posted on social media, "SHE IS TRUSTED AND TESTED and she is a fierce advocate for women's rights and people of color and her message is one of HOPE and UNITY for America at her time of great national divide."

And after Harris chose Tim Walz as her running mate, Curtis had this to say to Variety: “Did you hear his great speech? He made a statement that made me rise up. He was talking about the other side, and he was saying what women do to their bodies is none of your [redacted] business. That was like a rocket. I was like, ‘Oh, daddy! Let’s go!’ He really feels like the perfect choice.”

And after Taylor Swift dropped her eloquently written endorsement for Harris, Curtis reposted the whole thing for her followers.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift

The only celebrity beef more iconic than Taylor vs. Kanye is Taylor vs. Trump. The former president all but campaigned for the billionaire popstar's endorsement, speaking publicly and often at his rallies about her beauty and success. As if that weren't odd enough behavior, he then tweeted a fake AI-generated meme of Swift "endorsing" him. In response, after the first presidential debate between Trump and Harris, Swift informed her 384 million followers of her actual political stance by finally endorsing a candidate:

"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election...I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story. With love and hope, Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady." Period.

And Trump did not take the news well at all; he tweeted "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT" after the news made its way to his desk. And his VP pick, J.D. Vance, isn't helping matters. He told Fox News, "I don’t think Most Americans…are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans," and the whole world laughed at the irony of him running on a ticket with the man who has a golden toilet.

George Clooney

George Clooney

After Taylor Swift dropped her endorsement of Kamala like a mic drop moment, a plethora of celebrities backed her up—including actor George Clooney. “It was beautiful,” Clooney told reporters at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, Wolfs. “What a beautiful thing to do...She’s a real phenomenon right now, it’s exciting to see all of these young people engaged in the national discourse. I think it’s exciting. I’m very excited to see her engaged.”

Clooney has leveraged his celebrity status to become a prominent advocate for political and humanitarian causes, often engaging in campaigns and fundraising efforts to promote progressive policies. His activism is notably marked by his work in Darfur, where he has been deeply involved in raising awareness and funds to address the humanitarian crisis. Clooney's commitment to human rights extends to his advocacy for refugees, using his platform to highlight the challenges faced by displaced populations globally.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish

"Vote like your life depends on it, because it does," singer Billie Eilish told her 119 million Instagram followers. She and her brother Finneas, whom she writes music with, endorsed Harris in a video Eilish posted on September 18th. "We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future," Finneas said. "The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris." The video endorsement, right on the heels of Taylor Swift's post, instantly went viral.

Beyond her music, Eilish is a committed advocate for political and social causes. She actively supports climate change initiatives, leveraging her platform to raise awareness and inspire action among her fans. Additionally, she is outspoken on social justice issues, using her influence to champion equality and encourage her followers to engage in advocacy for meaningful change. Charli XCX

Charli XCX

Charli XCX's endorsement of Kamala Harris has added a unique flair to the vice president's presidential campaign, with the pop star coining Harris as "brat"—which broke the brains of news media pundits everywhere. This playful moniker, derived from Charli's album "Brat," positively highlights Harris's authentic quirkiness and boldness, resonating with the younger demographic. (Whichever Gen Z interns are running Kamala HQ deserve raises!)

Charli's support extends beyond words, as she allowed Harris's campaign to use her music, further intertwining her pop culture influence with political activism. The campaign seized this opportunity by adopting the "brat" aesthetic in promotional materials, creating a buzz that aligns with Charli's vibrant and unapologetic brand. This strategic alignment not only amplifies Harris's reach among Charli's fans but also underscores the importance of engaging younger voters through contemporary cultural touchpoints.

Beyonce

Beyonce

Like other pop girlies on this list, Beyonce has given Kamala her permission to use her hit songs in her campaign. Harris used her song "Freedom" in her first official campaign video. But is a heavier endorsement coming from Queen Bey? Rumors have circulated that she and Swift will perform at a fundraiser for Harris, but nothing has been confirmed.

Beyoncé has long been a powerful voice in political activism, using her platform to advocate for social justice and change. She has been a staunch supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, using her music and public appearances to highlight racial inequality and systemic injustice. Beyoncé has also championed gender equality, advocating for women's rights and empowerment through her artistry and philanthropy (who run the world?). Her efforts to encourage voter registration and participation have been notable, as she has consistently urged her fans and followers to engage in the democratic process.

Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan

You may not be familiar with your favorite artist's favorite artist, Chappell Roan, but Millennial and Gen Z voters sure are. Chappell, real name Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, has been building momentum in her career for the past decade, but blew up seemingly overnight with her 2023 album, "The Rise and Fall of the Midwestern Princess." And you've definitely heard her hit song, "Femininomenon," which has been co-opted by the Harris campaign in recent months.

But despite her music being used for the campaign, Chappell says she feels zero pressure to publicly endorse a candidate. She told The Guardian, “I have so many issues with our government in every way. There are so many things that I would want to change. So I don’t feel pressured to endorse someone...There’s problems on both sides. I encourage people to use your critical thinking skills, use your vote – vote small, vote for what’s going on in your city.”

Cardi B

Cardi B

The Afro-Latina rapper called for Harris to replace President Biden long before he finally stepped down. “STOP PLAYING WIT ME!!!!” she wrote on social media once the political swap was announced. “Been told y’all Kamala should’ve been the 2024 candidate. Y’all be trying to play the Bronx education, baby this what I do!!! Been my passion.. don’t let my accent fool y’all.”

Cardi has long been critical of Biden, even after endorsing him in the 2020 election. “I feel like people got betrayed,” she told Rolling Stone in May, citing the politician’s handling of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Palestine and economic struggles on the home front. “It’s just like, ‘y’all not caring about nobody.’”

Cardi B has become notorious for her political opinions, and her straightforward and passionate approach resonates with her young audience, inspiring them to become more politically aware and active. By leveraging her influence, she encourages her fans to participate in the democratic process, underscoring the significance of their voices in shaping a better future.

John Legend

John Legend

Musician John Legend has long used his platform to advocate for progressive causes. After Taylor Swift endorsed Harris, in an interview with The Independent, Legend noted he was proud of her because, “It was always really difficult for Taylor to speak out for liberal and progressive candidates coming from the country music world, where the fanbase is a lot more conservative.”

Legend went on to say that Harris “should be our next president,” because “she’s more presidential, she’s more intelligent, she understands the problems of the American people better and has better solutions...I honestly just hope we all get better with how we treat women. It’s abundantly clear to me, from my observation of what happens with Chrissy, that it’s harder to be a woman in public than it is to be a man. You see women running for office or women trying to lead a company — they get criticisms that just wouldn’t be thrown at a man in a similar circumstance.”

George Takei

George Takei

Since Harris announced her presidential bid, Takei has taken several opportunities to voice his support online. Among things like endorsing Harris and spreading awareness about fundraising calls, he's also taken on the media and internet trolls who called Harris a "DEI hire." On X, he wrote, "When Joe picked Kamala it was 'DEI' but when Kamala picks a straight white dude from a swing state it’s 'strategic.' Got it."
