Sure, being a celebrity sounds great what with the world travel, clothes, jewels, ceremonies! Everyone dreams of being a celebrity at one time or another, but there are times when being a celeb is not a great thing. Like when they go through a divorce.

Going through a divorce is a tough, personal life event that even the best of us have a hard time with. It can be even worse when there are children and custody battles involved. Now imagine going through a divorce and having your every move and personal detail leaked to the press for the whole world to know!

Still, some couples manage to do it better than others, though, and they even manage to be friendly when everything is final. With examples like Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray, and Halle Berry and any one of her exes, it's hard to find a happy ending in Hollywood.  But it is possible! Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom got massive public attention when their relationship was announced. While nobody was surprised that Orlando Bloom ended up dating a model, everyone was happy for the hot young couple. They began dating in 2007 and married in 2010. By early 2011, Kerr gave birth to their first son. 

After three years of marriage, the two announced that they were divorcing, and had even been separated before the announcement. Since then, they have remained friendly for the benefit of their son, Flynn. They’ve been spotted together seemingly enjoying each other’s company. When asked by a reporter about their relationship, Orlando said, “We’re not friends. We’re family."

Former professional hockey player Mike Comrie and actress Hillary Duff began dating in 2007 and inevitably tied the knot three years later in August of 2010. At the time, Hillary Duff was a huge celebrity, mostly because of her Disney program Lizzie McGuire. She was a teen idol in the likes of Briney Spears and Christina Aguilera. In 2011, Duff got pregnant with their first child together.

The two separated around 2013 after allegations of Comrie’s infidelity surfaced. The divorce was finalized in 2016, and Duff won full custody of their son, Luca. Despite the bad blood, the two have remained close. In a 2016 interview on The Ellen Show, Duff admitted that the two “are good friends… and we have great communication.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has never had trouble making the latest celebrity news but Chris Martin and Paltrow's relationship was quite a big deal for quite a while. Even as the lead singer of Coldplay Chris Martin was still lucky to have one the heart of one of the most popular actresses but the more we learned about them, the less we liked, especially after their peak weirdness, naming their child Apple.

The pair was married for 11 years before separating, or “conscious uncoupling” as they called it. They have a daughter, Apple, and a son, Moses, and they are doing their best to keep their family together and as happy as possible. Since the separation, they have both been present for full family vacations.

Michael C. Hall was a pretty big television star, having appeared already on Six Feet Under but he scored an even bigger hit with Dexter about a serial killer of well, serial killers. Hall and his co-star Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister on the show, got together in 2007 and eloped in 2008. The marriage lasted only a few years before Hall and Carpenter finalized their divorce in 2011.

Michael and Jennifer managed to stay good friends, and they even continued to work on Dexter together until the show ended in 2013. It was reported a few times that they were working on rekindling their flame, but each time the stars shot it down. Jennifer said,  "He is and always will be one of my best friends in the world, and just because the marriage ended doesn't mean the love isn't still there."

Bruce and Demi are easily one of the most congenial divorced couples in Hollywood. They were married in 1987 and had three daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. Nobody believed after being together for almost 13 years that the couple wasn't going to make it but that's exactly what happened. By 2000, Moore and Willis divorced. 

After divorcing, they decided they would remain close in order to co-parent the kids. They had such an amicable divorce that Bruce even attended Demi’s wedding to Ashton Kutcher in 2005. Of course, that marriage also ended in divorce. And Bruce Willis is now married to actress Emma Heming as of 2009.

Other than the Scream franchise, David Arquette wasn't a big celebrity, but Cox had that and Friends. Still, from watching them on screen, many were rooting for the couple to make it. They married in 1999 and had a daughter in 2004. Jennifer The couple stayed together until separating in 2010.  By 2012, they filed for divorce.

The two actors were married for almost a decade. Right after the divorce, it seemed like things might go ugly when David made some questionable public appearances. He got his act together, however, and the pair were all smiles when promoting Scream 4. They have said that their biggest goal was to not fight and argue, and they seem to be accomplishing that.

At around the same time, they even did a movie together,  Cruel Intentions. They had two children together and in the public eye, they seemed perfectly happy together. 

But, after seven years of marriage, Reese Witherspoon filed for divorce from Ryan Phillippe in 2007. Since they parted ways, the couple has made a serious effort to maintain a friendship for the sake of their children: Ava and Deacon. Ryan and Reese are often seen together at their kids' birthday parties and sports games.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony had been friends for years, even as she had been in a few high-profile relationships including P Diddy and Ben Affleck. After her relationship with Affleck, she began dating Marc Anthony and married him in June 2004. While they seemed happy and had twins in 2008, they would only stay together for a few years after, announcing their split in 2011.

J-Lo and Latin singer Marc Anthony’s divorce was finalized in 2014 after a seven-year-long marriage, joint concert tours, and several projects together, including one feature-length film. However, as far back as 2016 these two had seemed to remain friends when Lopez presented Anthony with the Latin Grammy Person of the Year Award and they shared a kiss. These days, the two can be seen co-parenting at all of their twins’ functions along with Lopez’s current fiancé, former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez.

They stayed together for almost 10 years, having a daughter in 2013. Fans everywhere were saddened to learn that the couple had been separated for months before announcing their separation in 2018.

Even with the split, the two released a joint statement that verified that they remain best friends even though they had decided to divorce. Channing Tatum moved on, however, quickly as he started dating the same year as the split in 2018. As recently as 2020, the couple agreed to co-parent their daughter in a 50/50 custody split of their daughter Everly.

Although their marriage only lasted a few years, the two have always had a close relationship and have co-parented their only child together, Zoe Kravitz, until she came of age. These days you can still see the two supporting their actress daughter at both public and private events, and you might even see Lenny and Lisa’s new husband, Jason Momoa, hanging out like besties.

Although the marriage seemed happy and it lasted for eight years, the two ultimately decided to end things in 2014 and officially divorced in 2016. However, it was an amicable split and the two decided that they should be the best parents they can be and to coexist for the sake of their twins: daughter Monroe and son Moroccan.

However, according to the reports, Affleck’s alcoholism caused issues in the marriage, and they separated in 2015. With their divorce finalized in 2018, the two have remained close friends, co-parenting their three children together and being spotted out in public as a family frequently. It's not the perfect situation but it seems to be working out for them. Let's hope it stays that way.

However, as of September of 2019, the two still remain friends - Jolie even going so far as to pen the introduction of Thornton’s memoirs.

When Anna Faris and Chris Pratt met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007, it seemed like it was love at first sight. They were engaged in 2008 and married in 2009 in Bali. To fans around the world, they looked like they were perfect for each other—until they weren’t. 

The couple announced their separation in 2017 and were divorced by October of 2018. Still, the two remain close friends, agreeing to live within five miles of each other for the sake of their son, and were spotted as recently as October 2019 with their respective new partners escorting little Jack while trick-or-treating.

It was purely by chance that Heidi Klum and Seal met one day in a hotel lobby in 2004 and Klum once described the meeting as “kind of like two magnets,” and the two were married in May of 2005. Four children and seven years later, it seemed that the honeymoon was over.

In earl 2012, the couple released a statement confirming their separation. Klum filed for divorce a few months later and they have not been romantically involved with each other since. However, the pair are famous for how well they still get along, co-parenting their children, being spotted a few years ago sharing a kiss after a meal. But don't let that fool you, Klum has moved on marrying Tom Kaulitz in 2019.

Sean Penn met Madonna on the set of her 1985 music video for “Material Girl,” and the pair began dating non-exclusively. But soon after, the relationship must have heated up because they were married just six months later in August of ’85. Their high-profile marriage lasted for four years.

In January of 1989, Madonna filed for divorce with Penn's public outbursts often cited as part of the cause. However, the two have remained friends all these years, often speaking up for each other and defending each other in public. Sean even went as far as declaring his love for Madonna on the Stephen Colbert show.

The couple were married for 23 years before they announced their intention to divorce in 2013, and by 2015, Bruce’s name had changed to Caitlyn. Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reasons for divorce. However, the two have remained close ever since. Kris was even spotted at Caitlyn’s 70th birthday celebration in 2019.

In 1990, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman met and fell in love on the set of her Hollywood debut film Days of Thunder. Their high-profile marriage seemed to be going strong but clearly, something was amiss - as they divorced in 2001. No matter how or why the marriage ended, the two rarely speak about each other in public. They have both said that there is mutual love and respect there for the happy 11 years they did spend together.
