Celebrity Divorcées Who Remained Friends

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

After 3 years of marriage, the two announced that they were divorcing, and had even been separated before the announcement. Since then, they have remained friendly for the benefit of their son, Flynn. They’ve been spotted together seemingly enjoying each other’s company. When asked by a reporter about their relationship Orlando said “We’re not friends. We’re family."

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie

Mike and Hilary were married for 3 years before they split up. Their official statement said they “remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives.” This impressive maturity is probably (or at least partially) due to the fact that they have a son together, Luca, who was born in 2012.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow

The pair was married for 11 years before separating, or “conscious uncoupling” as they called it. They have a daughter, Apple, and a son, Moses, and they are doing their best to keep their family together and as happy as possible. Since the separation they have both been present for full family vacations.

Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter

The two Dexter stars were married in 2008 and finalized their divorce in 2011. Michael and Jennifer managed to stay good friends, and they even continued to work on Dexter together until the show ended in 2013. It was reported a few times that they were working on rekindling their flame, but each time the stars shot it down. Jennifer said,  "He is and always will be one of my best friends in the world, and just because the marriage ended doesn't mean the love isn't still there."

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore

Bruce and Demi are easily one of the most congenial divorced couples in Hollywood. They were married in 1987, divorced in 2000, and have 3 daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. After divorcing, they decided they would remain close in order to coparent the kids. They had such an amicable divorce that Bruce even attended Demi’s wedding to Ashton Kutcher in 2005.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette

The two actors were married for almost a decade. Right after the divorce, it seemed like things might go ugly when David made some questionable public appearances. He got his act together however, and the pair were all smiles when promoting Scream 4. They have said that their biggest goal was to not fight and argue, and they seem to be accomplishing that.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe

After seven years of marriage, Reese Witherspoon filed for divorce from Ryan Phillippe in 2007. Since they parted ways, the couple has made a serious effort to maintain a friendship for the sake of their children, Ava and Deacon. Ryan and Reese are often seen together at their kids' birthday parties and sports games.
