It’s that time once again for Netflix to mix up their selection of instant movies and TV shows, so now that it’s November of 2014, say goodbye to a few great titles and welcome some new, albeit lesser known, ones. We are especially sad to lose some of these classic films because it is nearly impossible to find them at Redbox or retail stores.
Going, Going, GONE
- 101 Dalmations
- American Psycho
- Apocalypse Now
- Footloose (1984)
- Hannibal
- The Magic School Bus
- A Raisin in the Sun
- Say Anything
- Steel Magnolias
- Under the Tuscan Sun
Several of the films that Netflix removed are classics, such as Steel Magnolias and 101 Dalmations. Who can ever get enough of Dolly Parton and Sally Field? Or Cruella DeVille chasing down innocent puppies? Netflix, apparently. The Magic School Bus is another hard hit if you have children. It’s one of the few educational and fun shows you can let your child watch these days. At least Netflix kept the horror movies until Halloween is over, so you can still scare yourself to your heart’s content by watching American Psycho or Hannibal.
Please Welcome
- Beyond the Edge
- Louder than Words
- Nebraska
- The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
- Sabotage
- Spike
- Total Recall (1990)
- Trailer Park Boys 3: Don’t Legalize It
- Virunga
- War Story
You may be disappointed by their new selection since most of the films are not household names, but it’s not all bad news! Nebraska turned quite a few heads last year and was even nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Plus, the Total Recall movie they’re adding is not the low-rated Colin Farrell version; it’s actually the original Arnold Schwarzenegger film. It’s a little surprising (in a good way) that Netflix decided to stick with the original, considering they did not take the same route with Red Dawn and several other remakes. New is not always better!
