Along with Knope there are a hilarious cast of supporting characters, that will having you laughing your butt off. Get your Netflix account ready because it’s time catch up on every episode. Here are five reasons to binge watch Parks and Rec.
- Andy Dwyer
This really needs no explanation, but Chris Pratt’s character Andy Dwyer is the most lovable goofball on TV. Chris Pratt is now a mega star after his leading roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, but he has been making audiences laugh on Parks and Rec for years. His character is always completely clueless and adorable.
- Ron Swanson
Nick Offerman’s character, Ron Swanson, is a libertarian, anti-government, manly-man, serving as a supervisor for the local Parks and Recreation department. He hates everything about his job and most of his coworkers, but still manages to be be hilarious and somewhat endearing. You can’t help but love Ron Swanson, and his ex-wife story lines (Tammy 1 and 2) are some of the funniest on the show.
- Jerry/Gary/Larry Gergich
Poor Jerry is an employee at the Parks and Rec department. He has the reputation of being the laughing stock of the group and is rarely taken seriously. He has a gorgeous blonde wife, played by Christie Brinkley, and beautiful daughters, which takes everyone by surprise. His coworkers call him by different names, blame him for all the office mishaps and make him the butt of almost every joke. It makes you feel sorry for him and laugh at him all at the same time.
- Inside Jokes
Parks and Rec has so many funny storylines and random inside jokes that it makes you feel like you are part of the group. The writers do a great job of reusing previous story lines and bringing back hilarious recurring characters. Whether it’s Mouse Rat, Lil’ Sebastian, or the library rivalry, there are so many funny ongoing jokes in the series.
- The Cast of Characters
This show works because of a strong team dynamic. They don’t always get along, but they are always getting themselves into ridiculous situations where they have to work together. Tom (Aziz Ansari) and Donna (Retta) always encourage less productivity and more treating yo self, and Andy (Chris Pratt) and April (Aubrey Plaza) are the hilariously weird couple and you get to see their relationship bloom over the course of the series.
