The Bachelor will be entering its 19th season when it returns January 5th. It’s one of those shows that is hard to look away from. Some of the women seem genuine and ready to find love and some of them are just genuine train wrecks. The casting directors know what they are doing and put together a cast of ladies to keep everyone thoroughly entertained. Here’s the scoop on the newest Bachelor Chris and what you need to know for this season.
The Bachelor
The bachelor this season, Chris Soules, was one of the final three from Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette. Many women fell for Chris when he confessed his love for Andi and it’s our gain that Andi sent him home. After Andi met his family and he spilled his feelings, she let him go because she didn’t feel the same way.
Chris is a 32 year-old farmer from the midwest. Chris, who could actually drive a tractor before he could drive a car, grew up on a farm in nearby Lamont, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University, where he studied agriculture. He brought his skills back to the family farm where he expanded the business and helped make it the multi-million dollar enterprise it is today. He is a self proclaimed romantic and he has been engaged once before.
In his small hometown in Iowa, he felt that the dating pool was drained dry and he didn’t have any choices left. This realization prompted him to sign up to be on the Bachelorette. He says that his experience on The Bachelorette made him feel like love is out there, and made him want to be The Bachelor and continue to search for his true love.
The Contestants
There will be 25 women vying Chris’s attention on the opening episode of The Bachelor. ABC has released the names and bios of the 25 women and they’ve teased some interesting moments. So far we know one of the girls enters the show on a motorcycle wearing a ball gown. Tara, another contestant, decides to make her entrance wearing daisy dukes and cowboy boots, hoping to appeal to his midwestern side. Another bachelorette, Amanda, manages to blindfold Chris and sneak into the cocktail party without him seeing her. I'm not sure she manages that, but I’m guessing she’s hoping to get some extra one on one time once inside the party. It’s rumored that during the cocktail party Chris has some chemistry with a girl named, Britt.
