The Cast of 'Baywatch': Then and Now

David Hasselhoff |Then

David Hasselhoff |Then

David Hasselhoff was the true star of "Baywatch," appearing in every single season as well as some movies and spinoffs as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. Buchannon was a leader and often, something of a father figure to the rest of the lifeguards.

The show often showcased Hasselhoff's musical talents through Buchannon's passion for music. He was also a Navy SEAL, a father, something of a detective, and someone with many relationship woes. The show made Hasselhoff a star and his name is synonymous with "Baywatch."

Pamela Anderson | Then

Pamela Anderson | Then

While Hasselhoff was widely considered the star of the show, Pamela Anderson was a very close second. Anderson played lifeguard Casey Jean "C.J." Parker from 1992 to 1997. She is notably the most iconic star to wear the red swimsuit.

The former model and actress has said she was drawn to the role because Parker had sort of a "New Age" personality and was into topics like dream interpretation and healing crystals. Although she'd already been a Playboy Playmate, the show helped turn Anderson into a 1990s sex symbol.
