10. Fa Zhou & Mulan’s Mother: 'Mulan'
At first, Mulan’s family doesn’t approve of her going to fight in the war because they are afraid for her. Once she saves China from the Huns and proves that she is tough and capable, her father (Fa Zhou) and mother start to come around and see her for who she truly is. Some parents nowadays are stuck in their ways, but Fa Zhou and his wife aren’t those people. They’re open to change, and they would accept their children for who they truly are.
9. Fergus and Elinor: 'Brave'
Merida doesn’t really like or appreciate either of her parents at the beginning of the movie, but after she inadvertently turns her mother into a bear, she realizes how much her parents have really done for her. They support her free spirit, even in an age where girls aren’t regarded as strong or brave. So, in today’s age, they would definitely encourage their children to be whoever they wanted, no matter what other people think of them.
8. Eudora and James: 'Princess and the Frog'
Eudora and James don’t have a lot of money, but they are rich when it comes to love and family. They do a great job of passing on that lesson to their daughter, Tiana. Today, Eudora and James would teach their children to make the most of any situation they’re in and not to forget what’s truly important.
7. Geppetto: 'Pinocchio'
Geppetto pined for a son of his own for a long time, so he finally made one out of wood and wished upon a star that he was real. Once the blue fairy granted his wish, he did his best to raise Pinocchio to be a good, honest boy. No matter how many times Pinocchio messed up, Geppetto was always there for him. Even as a single parent, Geppetto would be a great support system for a child!
6. Maurice: 'Beauty and the Beast'
Everyone in Belle’s town makes fun of her for being bookish, except her father, Maurice. Maurice always encourages Belle to read, explore, and be who she really is. Maurice’s unwavering support is what helps Belle grow into a strong, independent woman. Children should always have someone to lean on, and Maurice would fill that role wonderfully.
5. The King and Queen: 'Tangled'
Rapunzel’s parents aren’t physically present for most of the movie, but no matter how many years pass, they never fail to release lanterns into the sky on Rapunzel’s birthday. They never stop searching for their daughter. So, if they were in the real world, we’re sure these two would never take their children for granted and would spend as much time with them as humanly possible.
4. Pongo and Perdita: '101 Dalmatians'
Pongo and Perdita have 15 puppies of their own that get kidnapped by Cruella de Vil, so they set out across London to find and rescue their pups. After they’re rescued, they learn that the other 86 puppies don’t have a home, so they decide to adopt every last one of them! If these two dalmatians were human, they would be the next Brangelina, giving a home to orphans from all over the globe.
3. Kala: 'Tarzan'
After Tarzan’s real parents and Kala’s child are murdered, Kala decides to take Tarzan in as her own. Despite all the backlash she receives, Kala never gives up on her child. As a human parent, we’re sure that even if her children got in trouble at school or committed a petty crime, she would stand by them, no matter what.
2. Bambi’s Mother: 'Bambi'
She is the epitome of a selfless, caring mother who is willing to lay down her own life in order to protect her child. In the real world, Bambi’s mother would be the type of mom who would run into a burning building or give up an organ to keep her child healthy and safe.
1. Mufasa: 'The Lion King'
Mufasa is not only the lion king, but he’s the king of all parents. Until his demise, he did everything he could to protect Simba and teach him how to be a great leader. Even after his passing, he appears to Simba and serves as his moral compass. As a human, those noble traits would surely carry over, and he would always watch over his children while still giving them room to grow.
