The Most Popular Netflix Show In Your State

According to the Vice President of Netflix, Cindy Holland, Netflix subscribers watch an average of two hours per day. Don’t worry—we watch way more than that, too! However, it got us to wondering what the most popular Netflix show was, and we realized that it was different for each state!

It turns out that America’s top Netflix show of 2019 was The Umbrella Academy, which premiered in February of 2019 and was streamed by more than 45 million households within its first four weeks, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It was the most-Googled show in 15 states according to this list. However, Orange is the New Black finished uber strong for 2019 as Netflix’s second-most popular show, despite the fact that it was the show’s final season.

The next-most popular shows in the country were Black Mirror, Haunting of Hill House, and Stranger Things, respectively. Even though Stranger Things dropped its most popular season yet in July of 2019, it was only the most popular show in one state, where it has kept that record for three years. Black Mirror was the most popular in eight states, and Haunting of Hill House was the most popular in six.

To see which Netflix show was the most popular in your state in 2019, read on!
