That’s right! Not only did Hester depart the show in a shocking and unexpected fashion, but his response to being fired made the headlines and increased the drama times a thousand.

Salty Secrets

Salty Secrets

Well, since leaving the production and filing a lawsuit against them, some pretty dark and murky secrets have revealed themselves.

The first thing that Hester alleged was that the producers and creators of the show “salt” the lockers, meaning that they decide in advance what’s going to be inside them and how valuable they are. Can you believe it?

Another thing that Hester alleged was that many of the women featured in the show had been pressured by producers to get plastic surgery or alter their appearances in various ways to look more attractive on-screen.

Not only were they pressuring them, but Hester alleged that they actually paid for one of the women’s surgery! We are not sure which star it was, but many people believe it was either Brandi Passante or Laura Dotson.

Shocking Death

Shocking Death

Another secret that shocked the world when news hit the headlines, was the sudden and unexplained death of former star Mark Balelo. A popular mainstay of the show, Balelo was found dead in his auction house in Simi Valley, California.

He had previously been arrested for possession of drugs and was awaiting his court appearance. Many people speculated that his death was also drug-related.

Double Trouble

And Mark Balelo wasn't the only cast member of the hit show who was struggling with some dark secrets behind-the-scenes. Because the once loved-up couple and onscreen dream team, Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante, were later in the news following a very public bust-up.

The two were married on the show and tried to avoid too much publicity when they split up – so when Schulz’s arrest for domestic violence battery hit the headlines, this didn't help them keep their private lives private.

And this wasn't actually the only time that Jarrod Schulz had spent time in the slammer thanks to a run-in with the law. Not only has he admitted to having taken and even dealt illegal drugs in the past, but he actually has revealed that he went to jail in the 1990s.

And we are not even talking about a night behind bars after one wild occurrence – he was in prison for no less than 16 months!

Office Romance

Office Romance

It’s pretty tough when couples get together in a work environment and then have to go through the ups and downs of relationships while also juggling their work together.

For Schulz and Passante, they were already married when they started work on the show, but the pressure of the limelight clearly got to them, and they split up around 2014. It seemed like an amicable parting, until their headline-hitting public fight, that is.

Speaking Out

While the two of them were on the show together, it seemed like Schulz and Passante were a match made in heaven. Not only were they married and had 2 children together, but they lived and loved the same thing – finding hidden gems in storage!

But after the split, Passante eventually spoke out about how life had really been behind the scenes with her husband and co-star. And fans were pretty shocked by what she revealed…
