Thomas Jane (Rick Grimes)
We all know Andrew Lincoln to be the face of Rick, but Thomas Jane was actually the first choice of Frank Darabont, the creator of the show. Jane has the acting experience (The Mist, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry), gritty style, and commanding presence required to lead the group of survivors.
Matt Frewer (Dale Horvath)
Dale was the wise person who gave everyone advice and offered protection. He was undoubtedly the group's grandfather before Hershel arrived, and Matt will play this role spectacularly. He was hilarious as the White Knight in SyFy’s Alice, and he's been a fan favorite in many BBC television shows. If you can’t see a grandfather in this actor, then you're watching the wrong shows.
Viola Davis (Michonne)
Evangeline Lilly (Maggie Greene)
Not everyone loved The Hobbit, but Evangeline Lilly's Tauriel was one of the most outstanding characters, bringing grace and beauty to the performance. These traits also define Maggie. She’s a survivor who is willing to do anything to keep her group alive. If you still doubt Lilly's ability, watch her as Hope Van Dyne in Ant-Man. Stubborn, beautiful, and deadly.
Aaron Yoo (Glenn Rhee)
You'll probably recognize Aaron Yoo from movies like 21 and Disturbia. In each of these films, Yoo plays a character who comes through for his friends in the midst of disaster. He will bring that same persona to the table while playing Glenn, and it doesn't hurt that Yoo and Evangeline Lilly will look adorable together!

Chloe Grace Moretz (Beth Greene)
Chloe Grace Moretz is known for her Kick-Ass acting skills, so playing Beth won't be difficult. While this character isn’t exactly Hit-Girl, she does have a strong personality that got her through season five. Moretz is talented enough to play the girl struggling through the end of the world, but she’ll really shine after being captured by Dawn Lerner and her group at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Katherine Heigl (Lori Grimes)
Lori was a mom, cheater, and all-around hated character. Who else could play her better than Katherine Heigl? She’s played a mother in both Knocked Up and Life as We Know It, pulling off both roles very well. She’s extremely convincing, so Lori's death will be much more gratifying.
Pierce Gagnon (Carl Grimes)
If you've seen Looper, you'll recognize this little actor as a soon-to-rise dictator who would wreak havoc on the future. This movie proved Pierce Gagnon is a fantastic actor with incredible potential. Start TWD over with him, and as he grows up, he will definitely be able to fill the role of Carl.

Sigourney Weaver (Carol Peletier)
Carol would be difficult to cast in a reboot because she’s one of the best characters in the series, but Sigourney Weaver is the woman to do the job. She has a great track record of playing strong women in movies such as Alien and Avatar. From baking housewife to fearless warrior, Weaver will do Carol justice.
Jason Momoa (Shane Walsh)
Shane wasn’t exactly sane by the end of season two, but before that, he was the rock Rick needed to get through the first season. Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will play this survivor perfectly, and who could resist his rugged good looks and charm? Lori’s actions will be a little more understandable in this reboot!
John C. Reilly (Eugene Porter)
Donald Sutherland (Hershel Greene)
Hershel is not only the glue that holds the Greene family together but also the father anyone can go to for advice. Donald Sutherland's most recent work cast him as the stern President Snow in The Hunger Games series, but he is an accomplished actor who can fill any role. He'll bring his experience as a father in real life to play Hershel on TWD.

Piper Perabo (Andrea)
Piper Perabo made a name for herself in Coyote Ugly, but she has since appeared in many other big movies. If you doubt her ability to play Andrea, then you haven’t seen Covert Affairs. Not only does she know how to wield a gun but she’s also beautiful and deceitful. There's no doubt that she'll hold her own against the Governor.

Michelle Rodriguez (Rosita Espinosa)
Sarah Polley (Tara Chambler)
Idris Elba (Tyreese)
Tyreese warmed our hearts despite the fact he was a prisoner. He emotionally moved us while still being a force to be reckoned with. Idris Elba will easily play both characteristics of this complex man, having pulled off similar roles in Pacific Rim and Thor. Strength, charm, and empathy—Elba has it all.
David Oyelowo (Morgan Jones)
Morgan saves Rick and teaches him the way things work in their violent new world, but he becomes a staff-wielding pacifist later in the series. David Oyelowo has an extensive list of acting achievements and awards under his belt that make him a no-brainer. He can be a gritty crime detective in Jack Reacher one moment and a passive preacher in The Help the next.
David Meunier (Daryl Dixon)
Daryl is arguably TWD fans' favorite character, so he must be played by someone equally as awesome as Norman Reedus. David Meunier will play the redneck perfectly—he was Johnny Crowder in Justified, after all. While we’ve only seen Meunier play “bad” characters, it’ll be a breeze for him to play Daryl.

Ron Perlman (Merle Dixon)
Merle was a difficult character to like when he reappeared in the show, but his death spurred emotions we didn’t want to bear. Ron Perlman has shown that he can play a brute in Sons of Anarchy, and he can easily move us to tears if he chooses. Perlman and David Meunier will also work great together as brothers in a reboot.
Joseph Fiennes (Philip Blake)
As one of the greatest comic book villains of all time, the Governor must be played by someone who can capture the hearts of many while also being capable of terrible things. While he may not look like a brutal tyrant, Joseph Fiennes will be perfect for this role. Philip Blake knows that a silver tongue is stronger than a clenched fist, and Fiennes can deliver. He has, after all, played the smooth-talking wordsmith in Shakespeare in Love.
