Man shocked by what happened in the past year.

Top 14 WTF Moments of 2014

It’s been a crazy year filled with ups and downs, as well as a few selfies and wing slaps. As we say goodbye to 2014, it’s important that we reflect upon the most memorable moments – the ones that made you say “Double yew. Tee. Eff!”

  1. Danity Kane did NOT make a comeback. Again.
Remember that (amazing) song “Showstopper” way back when? That was Danity Kane, the girl group created by none other than Diddy back in 2005. They had a couple of hits and then broke up in 2009, leaving their fans absolutely devastated. Then, in 2013, a miracle happened: Danity Kane reunited! Well, four of the five girls did, anyway. Fast forward to 2014: one of the girls dropped out to get married and have babies, and then there were three. And then suddenly there were none, because one girl punched another girl in the face and ruined EVERYTHING. R.I.P Danity Kane…

  2. Nick Jonas tried to be Mark Wahlberg. And failed.
You’ve seen the pictures. Enough said.

  3. Demi Lovato created a new trend, aka the half-Britney (circa 2007).
For those of you who may not remember 2007 (because you were practically in diapers), this is the year Britney Spears had a psychotic break and shaved her entire head. Demi, on the other hand, only shaved half of her head (as a fashion statement; not a meltdown). She also dyed her hair lavender and even got her own line of hair extensions for starting the new trend.

  4. Curling came and went.
What is curling? The Winter Olympics sport that everyone is too embarrassed to say they care about. We know you watched. We did, too. Unfortunately, it will be another four years until we get to see Norway’s crazy uniform pants again.

  5. The Celebgate opened.
And bad things happened. Very, very bad things. And if you looked at any Celebgate pictures, Jennifer Lawrence thinks you’re “disgusting.” So, shame on you.

  6. Gone Girl. Bye, girl.
If you've ever wanted to create a murder mystery that pisses off feminists all over the world, now you know how. Also: Ben Affleck.

  7. Miley stayed quiet. Unfortunately.
The queen of twerk supposedly retired the dance move that made her a superstar, but home girl could’ve at least stirred up a little trouble for us in 2014 after setting the bar so high in 2013.

  8. Brazil made a soccer fail.
The media said Brazil wasn’t ready for the World Cup. However, it was protest-free, and the stadia were completed. The one thing that wasn’t ready: Team Brazil. Germany crushed them on home turf, creating a new national day of mourning.

  9. Amanda Bynes lost it. Again.
She documented her craziness on Twitter. Then she went to rehab. Then she got back on Twitter. Lost it again and back to rehab she went. Keeping her in our prayers...

  10. America’s most eligible bachelor married a human rights lawyer.
That’s right; George Clooney is finally off the market. Now if we can just get Jennifer Aniston down the aisle…

  11. T.Swift left country behind to become the new princess of pop.
Everyone at the CMT awards breathed a bit easier this year.

  12. Ariana Grande got wing-slapped at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show…
AND THEY DIDN’T AIR IT. Thank God for the Internet. Now we will always have the Ariana wing-slap meme heard ‘round the world.

  13. Kim K’s butt didn’t break the Internet…
Nice try, but we’ve seen it a few times before.

  14. But Ellen’s epic Oscar selfie did!
Remember the selfie Ellen Degeneres took with Jennifer Lawrence, Brad and Angelina, Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong’o (and her not-famous brother), Kevin Spacey, and Channing Tatum at the Oscars? The one that literally broke Twitter? Yes, that was this year. And yes, it was epic.
