4 Creative Kid Birthday Invitations

You can purchase birthday invitations for a child's party at a store, but when you make them yourself, you add a touch of personality and a unique design. Creating invitations only takes a few materials and little bit of your time. There are several designs you can create based on the kind of party that your child wants to have.

  1. Rainbow Surprise

If your child has a spring birthday, then a rainbow surprise invitation would be a perfect way to let everyone know about the event. It's full of color, and it can be used for boys and girls, although girls might find the idea a little more fun. Create a rainbow with all of the details, such as the time and place. Add small white clouds to the ends of the rainbow, and fold it like an accordion. Glue one end inside the envelope so that the recipient can pull the rainbow out to look at the invitation.

  2. Pirate Party

This is an easy invitation to make if you want a pirate party. Tear brown paper bags into squares that are the shape of a postcard for the background of the invitation. Add a red and white piece of string to look like a path to buried treasure and a large X to mark the spot. Add the information about the place of the party beside the X and all the other information along the path of string. You can add images of pirates and parrots, and pirate ships around the invitations.

  3. Balloons

A balloon invitation is great when you want something simple. You will have to buy balloons that have all of the party details, but the overall effect is brilliant. Get a plain piece of paper that has a border that follows along with the color scheme. Attach the balloon to the paper with a ribbon. On the piece of paper, write instructions for the child to blow up the balloon. When the balloon is blown up, it will reveal all of the details for the party. This can be done for a simple birthday party or even a circus themed event.

  4. Popsicle Fun

Having a summery or beach themed birthday party? Draw popsicles on some paper in varying colors and cut them out. List the party information on the paper popsicles and glue them on a white piece of paper. You can add glitter or colored sand to create a fun look for the invitation.
