Keeping up with all the different platforms and the voting histories of candidates can be a daunting task when you’re trying to choose who to vote for. With all of the options available, you may not know exactly where to go to get the most accurate and unbiased information. To help you, we’ve found 11 resources for keeping up with presidential candidates. 

  1. 270 to Win
    270 to Win has dedicated itself to helping you keep track of politics, even if you don’t live anywhere near Washington D.C. Not only is this information unbiased, but you can also get facts and election results for local elections, such as those for governor. 270 to Win also has a live counter to let you know when it’s time to vote and who is currently in the lead. 
  2. Rock the Vote
    Don’t be fooled by the home page. While you can join Rock the Vote, you don’t have to. Rock the Vote focuses on helping younger generations easily understand what’s going on politically. It’s as simple as clicking “get informed” and selecting your state. From there, you know when and where you can vote as well as how to register. The website stays updated on all current presidential information from several popular news sources. 
  3. Real Clear Politics
    Real Clear Politics dedicates itself to being unbiased, no matter your political affiliation. Every day, the site updates politically reviewed topics and displays the results of the poll. If you want something that is utterly straightforward, Real Clear Politics is where to go. It will also tell you what’s going on in the news involving the presidential candidates. ?
  4. The New York Times
    It’s no secret that The New York Times is a great place to stay updated on current information involving all of the presidential candidates—and I mean all of them. This website will even tell you who has chosen not to run and who has dropped out of the race. If you are interested in a presidential candidate, The New York Times will even display recent quotes from news stories involving that person.

    Meerkat is here to help you stay on top of technologically savvy politicians. This app provides live streaming video of politicians who use Meerkat to get their messages across to the public.     Find out about polls before they even happen. Ballotpedia calls itself the “Encyclopedia of American Politics,” so it’s understandable that this website is one of the best places to go for presidential information. It will tell you the names of the candidates involved in the election as well as information about them. Ballotpedia will also inform you of any recent news stories, public opinions, and the times of upcoming debates. 
  7. On the Issues
    While this website may not look like much, it’s a great resource for anyone seeking information involving their favorite candidate. Not only does On the Issues keep track of each candidate, but it also tells you the results of previous debates. All you have to do is click on a candidate, and the website will tell you without bias where your candidate stands on abortion, budget and economy, civil rights, and more. It’s easy to follow and is updated regularly.  
  8. VoteSmart
    VoteSmart is super-simple to use. Type in the name of a candidate, and the website will take it from there. The first thing VoteSmart tells you is where the politician stands on key issues. It will list a simple question with “yes,” “no,” or another appropriate answer.  If you want more information about the candidate’s decisions, you can simply click “…” to see more about where he or she stands. The website even lists its sources, giving it even more credibility. 
  9. FactCheck
    This website is updated almost immediately when news comes out about your favorite presidential candidate. Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, you’ll find new stories about who you may vote for at FactCheck. Not only does the website inform you about what the politician has said, it will also break down the information for easy reading. 
  10. Inside Gov
    Inside Gov allows you to view and compare politicians with a click of a mouse. It’s as simple as checking boxes. If you want to compare politicians based on their military opinions, Inside Gov can give you a comparison. Check “military” and read about their views. This website is unique because it also gives you user reviews on politicians. While these reviews aren’t always unbiased or even accurate, they may change the way you view a candidate. 
  11. I Side With
    If you're unsure which presidential candidate to vote for, you can visit I Side With. This website asks you where you stand on several key issues including education, immigration, health care, environmental issues, and more. After you’ve answered all of the questions (a processes that takes about 20 minutes), I Side With will tell you which presidential candidate agrees with your opinions.
