A plastic shower rod cover is perfect to hide unsightly cords. It also keeps them from wrapping up and completely tangling. Shower rod covers are available at most hardware or home improvement stores.

This project will require you to destroy a book, but it could be worth it. Routers can be unsightly, but you can wrap it in a book cover. There are some caveats with this hack.
