7 Basics Items Vital to a Successful Home Bar

If you're lucky enough to have built a bar in your home, you're going to need to stock it with useful items. If you visit your local community bar and take a look around, you'll notice some furniture, decorations, and smaller items that are all essential and needed to make the perfect home bar.

  1. Bar Stools

While bar stools are obvious necessities in every bar, not every person puts them in their home due to space issues. If you want to make the perfect bar where friends and family can enjoy a relaxing drink and some good conversation, you're going to need bar stools. They can be purchased for a relatively small amount of money at your local furniture store.

  2. Various Glasses

Shot glasses, wine glasses, mixers and beer glasses are all must haves if you plan on hosting a party. If you're looking to build a bar in your home, you likely haven't stepped foot in a sorority house or frat party in years. Drop the plastic red cups and head to your local housewares stores to pick up a set of glasses for your bar.

  3. LCD TV

A 32 inch LCD television can be bought for roughly $200. Your home bar will be much more popular with an LCD television. You can invite friends and family over to watch the game or just use it for background noise. A television is an essential part of a home bar because it creates an ambiance that everyone is familiar with.

  4. Napkins

The worst thing that could happen to a wooden bar is for someone to ruin it by not using a napkin or coaster for their drink. Napkins and coasters are cheap. Buy yourself some easy protection from stains by heading to your local grocery store today to pick up a couple packs of napkins.

  5. Cooler

If you didn't build a refrigerator into your bar, you'll need a cooler to keep your drinks cold. Head to your nearest hardware supply and pick up a simple cooler. Fill it with ice and you have your very own portable refrigerator! No need to build an expensive one in your home bar.

  6. Utensils

Utensils are needed in a bar to mix drinks and serve snacks. Most people don't like to drink without some finger foods, so make sure to provide plenty of snacks, and the utensils that go along with them.

  7. Bottle Opener

How are you going to open beer bottles without a bottle opener? If you plan on hosting a large amount of people, buying multiple openers is a good idea. You can pick them up at your local grocery store for less than a few dollars.
