Do you have a lot of friends over for outdoor picnics? Are you always trying to improve your outdoor décor? Many make the effort to grill food, but don’t make the effort to set the picnic table. Outdoor themes can be difficult, but it will be well worth your time and effort when it’s all your friends talk about during dinner.
- Bandanas
In the beginning of summer everyone is ready to get the ball rolling with cookouts, pool parties, and other gatherings, so keep it simple. Bandanas have a summer feel that can be used to make tables stand out. All you need is to make a table runner out of the bandanas, and simply add more to make napkins. Make some barbeque chicken and you have a rugged atmosphere for the family to enjoy.
- Commit to Patriotic Decor
Everyone loves to decorate for Fourth of July, but you want something more unique. The table itself makes perfect stripes, just alternate painting the wooden slats of your picnic table red and white. You can even put some flag “bouquets” in the center for added patriotism. Finish the table off with some blue napkins and bring out the hot sausages.
- Get Beachy
This next idea is perfect for the month of August. The sun is hot, with no clouds in sight, so why not have a beach theme? Make a centerpiece using moss cushions and stones and arrange them however you like. Then get some votive candles and fill the area of the vase surrounding the candle with sand. This is the perfect look for a table filled with food from the sea.
- One Last Hoorah
With September comes the end of summer so why not have one last party? Decorate your picnic table in honor the coming fall season. Simply cover the table with burlap. Use yellow and brown flowers as a centerpiece, and add lanterns to provide illumination as darkness falls. You can even sit on hay bales as you enjoy a plate of fried chicken and biscuits.
There are so many ways to decorate a picnic table, whether we use the table itself or other items. No matter the occasion, use your imagination and make your table décor stand out.
