5 Best Stores for Wedding Registries

Choosing where to start a wedding registry can be just as stressful as choosing what to register for. There are so many stores that offer the exact items you plan to ask for so narrowing down the options isn’t always easy. Here is a look at some of the best places to start your wedding registry for your special day.

  1. Bed, Bath & Beyond
If you ask around about which stores to register with, Bed, Bath, & Beyond is likely to top the list of most popular places. Not only does this store offer many of the home items you will need in married life but they also offer a 10% discount on the purchase of items that you don’t receive (though only for 90 days after your wedding and only for one purchase). This, paired with their incentive program that offers free gifts with registering and guest purchases, can help you save you an extra dollar. Additionally, you will be able to create and manage your registry online which makes for an easy registry experience.
  2. Crate & Barrel
Offering easy-to-use online functionality (you can even register from your phone!), Crate & Barrel is a good choice for people who like to add a unique touch to their housewares and decorations. Your registry can remain open for up to 18 months after your event date to ensure that everyone who wants to give a gift will be able to. A slight improvement from BB&B, Crate & Barrel offers a 10% on your purchases after the wedding -- but for two purchases rather than one. You are allowed to use the discount once in the store and once online. You can also save a bit of money with free registry announcement card save-the-date date cards when registering with Crate & Barrel.
  3. Kohl’s
Another store with online registry management, Kohl’s is one of the best places for furnishing your home after your wedding. They keep your registry open for a full year after the wedding date and will give complimentary announcement cards offering your guests a 15% discount on any purchases of $50 or more on registry items. The discount works for you too -- after the wedding, you will get to enjoy a 15% discount on any purchases from your registry for up to 90 days after the date.
  4. Target
Target offers many designer styles for affordable prices, along with the ability to edit your registry from your mobile device. Target also offers a 10% discount for purchasing from your registry after the date, though your registry will only remain open for 90 days. Be prepared though, the fast changing inventory of Target can cause some issues when trying to find some registry items.
  5. Amazon
If running your registry completely online instead of through brick-and-mortar places is fine with you, consider choosing Amazon. Not only will the selection be ridiculously large, but your guests can also shop from the comfort of their own home. Free shipping on orders above $35 adds a bit more sweetness to the deal. Amazon will also offer you a one time 10% coupon to finish off your registry after your special day. Plus, Amazon will help you keep track of everything you register for. They offer a “universal registry” feature which allows you to download an extension to Chrome and add things to your registry or wishlist from any website.
