5 Tips for Perfect Wedding Vows

Writing your own vows may seem somewhat stressful, especially considering that you only get one chance at it. Don't fear. With these five helpful tips, you and your partner can write your own beautiful vows that you'll cherish for the rest of your lives.

  1. Use correct grammar.

Before anything else, be 100% sure that your vow doesn't contain any misspellings or grammatical errors. Nobody wants to hear you tell your significant other how much you love them in incorrect English. It's both embarrassing and careless. Make sure to double and even triple check your work beforehand.

  2. Speak of past experiences.

Tell the person you're about to marry just how and when you fell in love with them. Mention your first date, first kiss, and other big relationship events. Take him or her back to those beautiful moments and share them with your friends and family.

  3. Maintain eye contact.

It may seem a bit obvious, but look deep into your partner's eyes while you're pouring out your heart to him or her. It will make the connection even stronger.

  4. Project your voice.

Make sure that your voice is both loud and clear when saying your vows. You want not only your partner to be able to clearly hear you, but also the audience. If you have a naturally quiet voice, or if the crowd is larger, a microphone may be the best option.

  5. Speak from the heart.

This one may seem obvious, but it's definitely the most important. Pour your heart into your vow. This is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Express to the best of your ability just how dearly you love him or her and hold nothing back.
